Saikul YC, JSCY win in Khanglai Meet

Kangpokpi, March 09 2016:
Saikul Youth Club (SYC) clinched a narrow win over FC Chawang Brothers, Senapati in the first match of Khanglai Meet today at Brig Thomas ground, Kangpokpi.
The lone winning goal of Saikul Youth Club was scored by Elminhao in the 48th minute.
YC's Seiminhao and Paoneireng were booked with yellow cards for unsporting behaviour on the field.
In another match, JSYC, Sadar Hills edged past Konghom Area Youth Development Union (KAYDU) by a margin of 2 goals to one.
JSYC took the lead in the first half as early as in the 6th minute after Kakai found the net.
However, KAYDU quickly bounced back in the 9th minute through a strike from Thangtinlal.
The first half ended 1-1.
In the second half, Seiminlun of JSYC struck home the winning goal of his side in the 62nd minute.
Yesterday, LASC and SK Soccer, Churachandpur advanced for the next knock out match of the ongoing 4th Khanglai Meet yesterday at Brig Thomas ground, Kangpokpi.
In the first match, Lhungtin Area Sporting Club (LASC), Saikul were given a walk over after SSU failed to turn up for the match.
In another match, SK Soccer, Churachandpur thrashed FC Ngaium 4-0.Lalthriuisang and Thanga of SK Soccer scored a goal each in the 5th and 40th minute respectively while Henry scored a double in the 46th and 63rd minute to make the scoreline 4-0 .
Tomorrow, Ninou FC will play with Thangkanphai in the first match while FC Zalen will meet FC Khanglai in the second match.
The meet scheduled to conclude on March 16 carries a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh for the champion team and Rs 70,000 for the runners up while Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 for third and fourth placed team respectively.
