Imphal, June 01 2018:
Manipur State League Participating Teams' Forum (MSLPTF) will welcome and abide by any instruction given by the High Court of Manipur regarding settlement of differences between the forum and the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA), said Khumanthem Bankimchandra, chairman of the forum in a media interaction programme held at Manipur Press Club yesterday.
It may be mentioned that Manipur State League 2017 was put on hold after an untoward incident between a team and referees conducting the match on October 10 .
The league could not be resumed as MSLPTF came up with a charter of demands which the organiser failed to comply.
After many unsuccessful reconciliation moves, both the forum and AMFA approached the High Court of Manipur highlighting their grievances and seeking solution.
On May 24, a division bench of the High Court had directed to constitute a committee which include a retired judge, a representative of Youth Affairs and Sports Department, president of All Manipur Football Association and its two nominees and representatives of 9 teams for mediation and reconciliation.
The first sitting of the committee will be held tomorrow.
The forum not only welcomed the move of Manipur High Court but also considered it a golden chance for settling the issue amicably.
