State Sub-Jr & Jr Wushu Championship : CWI shine in Taolu events for sub-junior boys and girls

Central
Wushu Institute (CWI) had a
bright start to their campaign
as they were able to clinch 25
medals including 11 gold, 9
silver and 5 bronze today in
the taolu events for sub-junior
boys and girls at the 19th State
Level Sub-Junior and Junior
Wushu Championship which
is underway at Wushu Hall
Khuman Lampak Sports
Complex, Imphal.
Imphal East District
Wushu Association
(IEDWA) were able to
clinch a gold and a silver
medal respectively through
N Nikhil and W Bikesh
Meitei who secured 7.80 and
7.69 points in the
Changquan event for Group
C Boys while Jupiter E of
CWI was able to grab the
bronze medal with 7.68
points.
However CWI swept the
Changquan Group C Girls
events as Ng Kajal, M Britain
and H Keya of the said
unit finished first, second
and third respectively with
8, 7.70 and 7.40 points in
their names.
In the Nanquan event for
Group B Boys, G Devesh
Sharma of CWI secured
7.80 points to win the title
while Th Jollyson of SAIRC
who recorded 6.90
points finished second.
The title for Group B
Boys Changquan event went
to A Tapas of CWI by collecting
7.90 points while his
compatriot finished second
with 7.70 points.
IEDWA's
Th Kerin was able to secure
the bronze medal scoring
7.30 points.
Meanwhile in the
Changquan event for Group
B Girls, Y Ichantombi of
IEDWA recorded 7.40
points to win the gold while
SAIRC's L Tania Devi (6.80
pts) and N Jessica (6.50 pts)
finished second and third.
Taijiquan 42 Steps .
Nganba Aheibam (7.50
pts) and Angom William
(7.30 pts) of CWI were able
to clinch the gold and the
silver medal in the Taijiquan
42 Steps competition for
Group B Boys while W
Bhumeshor Meitei of
IEDWA finished third with
7 points.
In the same event
for Group B Girls, O
Malemnganbi of CWI
fetched the gold with a 7.50
pts mark while SAI-RC's
Carolina Ch (6.70 pts) and
Tomthingnanbi H (6.50 pts)
finished second and third.
Olicia of IEDWA was
able to win the Taijiquan 24
Steps event title for Group
C Girls with a score of 7.40
points while CWI's
Jonaprince K (7.30 pts) and
Joanna Jeropova (6.50 pts)
respectively grabbed the silver
and bronze medals.
Daoshu .
H Renold and Jupiter E
of CWI secured 7.40 and 7
points respectively to claim
the gold and the silver medal
in the Group C Boys Daoshu
event while W Bikesh of
IEDWA finished third with
6.90 points.
CWI's Ng Kajal on the
other hand clinched the
Daoshu gold for Group C
Girls while her compatriots
M Britain and L
Lingthoinganbi secured 7.10
and 6.80 points to win the
silver and the bronze medals.
Th Kerin of IEDWA won
the Group B Boys Daoshu
gold with 7.20 points while
Thounganba A of CWI and
L Jibison of SAI-RC finished
second and third for the silver and the bronze
medals.
Y Ichantombi on the
other hand claimed the
Group B Girls title by securing
7.30 points.
Gunshu .
Jupiter E of CWI registered
yet another medal in
the Group C Boys Gunshu
event by finishing first with
a score of 7.40 points.
W
Bikesh of IEDWA and H
Renold of CWI were able to
grab the silver and the
bronze medals in this event.
Jianshu .
CWI's A Tapas and L
Nelson bagged the gold and
the silver medals in the
Group B Boys' Jianshu
event with 7.50 and 7.20
points while L Tania of SAIRC
claimed the Group B
Girls title by posting 6.70
points.
Surjalal G of CWI was
able to fetch the Group C
Boys Jianshu gold by registering
7 points while Imphal
West District Wushu Association
bagged the silver
medal with 6.80 points.
H Keya of CWI and her
compatriot L Pinky were
able to grab the gold and the
silver medals for the Group
C Girls category with 7.20
and 7 points respectively .
