Anou Memorial State Level Chess Tournament Yaisana Devi, Premjit lift U-15, open's title

Imphal, June 21 2016:
Yumkhaibam Yaisana Devi and S Premjit respectively clinched the Under-15 and open category title of the 26th Kh Anou Singh Memorial State Level Chess Tournament, organised by the Kwakeithel Chess Club, today at Imphal College Multipurpose Hall.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at LYDA Community Hall and the function was graced by MLA RK Anand, Kwakeithel Chess Club president S Rashi and Manipur Chess Association secretary Th Nabachandra Singh as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

In the Under-15 category, Y Yaisana Devi, Nungshithoi Ngairangbam and Ningthoujam Ramesh Singh secured the first, second and third place respectively.
Champion Yaisana was awarded a cash prize of Rs 3000 and a trophy while N Nungshithoi and N Ramesh Singh received a cash prize of Rs 2000 and Rs 1000 respectively.
In the open category, S Premjit Singh clinched the first position and he was awarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a trophy.
Second and third place winner A Chakritombi Singh and Kh Sanjoy were awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and Rs 7000 respectively.
Shakespeare L, Ph Surjakanta Sharma and H Jacky secured 4th, 5th and 6th position and were awarded Rs 7000, Rs 5000 and Rs 2000 respectively.
Further a cash prize of Rs 2000 each were given to Chitaranjan (7th), H Somokanta (8th), L Koireng Meitei (9th) and O Ningthem (10th) while A Polen (11th), E Shashikanta (12th) and S Goodcha Meitei (13th) received Rs 1000 each.
Haobam Maniton Singh was named the best veteran player of the tournament and he was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1000 .
The fair play award and most promising player award went to Kh Oley and A Jiban Singh respectively and were awarded a cash prize of Rs 2500 each.
For the under-15 group, K Suraj and K Geetchand Sharma bagged the best and second promising player title respectively.
