State level Indigenous Open Wrestling Competition to be organized at Senapati

The Senapati District Wrestling Association, Manipur (SDWAM) is all set to organize the 2nd State level Indigenous Open Wrestling Competition, 2018 from September 25 to 28 at Mini Stadium, Senapati.
The competition will be hosted by Viewland Veteran Club while Letpao Haokip, Minister Youth Affairs & Sports and Water Resource, Govt of Manipur will attend as chief guest on the opening ceremony, Neivikuolie Khatsu, President Nagaland Wrestling Association as Function President and Somorjit Salam (IAS) DC Senapati and Ch Ibohal Singh, Secretary All Manipur Traditional Belt Wrestling Association as guests of honour.
On the valedictory function, Y Joykumar Singh, Dy Chief Minister of the State will grace as chief guest, N Kayisii, Minister TD & Hills and Fisheries, Govt of Manipur as Function President while Armstrong Pame (IAS) Director Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt of Manipur and M Pradip Singh (IPS) SP Senapati will attend as the guests of honour on the closing day.
According to the event organizers, there shall be two categories of wrestlers during the competition - Heavy Weight (above 65 kg) and Light Weight (below 65 kg) .
The tournament carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh for the champion, Rs 70,000 for the runners-up, Rs 50,000 for the 2nd runners-up and Rs 30,000 for the 4th position holder while four consolation prizes of Rs 5,000 each will be awarded in the competition, mentioned the event organizers.
