MOA to consider to affiliate Sepak Takraw : Bijoy Koijam

THE 2ND East Zone Sepak Takraw Championship Regu event which will last for two days kicked off today at Indoor Stadium of Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
The championship is being organised All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association, under the aegis of Sepak Takraw Federation of India.
Six different teams including Manipur is participating in this championship in men's and women's category.
The participating states are Orissa, Mizoram, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura and host Manipur.
The championship was inaugurated by Transport, Sericulture and Education Minister L.Jayentakumar as chief guest.
MLA and MOA president, Bijoy Koijam presided over the inaugural function.
Keeping in view of the different achievements of Manipur team of Sepak Takraw in the past few years, L.Jayentakumar in his speech said that he will extend helps from his side, whatever he can for the development and success of Manipur team in the ongoing championship and the national championship which is to be held from November 5 .
Bijoy Koijam in his presidential speech said that Sepak Takraw being an event which brings fames and pride of Manipur and India, MOA will consider to affiliate it.
Only a few players and officials from Manipur participated in the recent Olympic held at Beijing.
We need hard work to be able to participate in large number in |the coming Olympic games of London, 2012 .
Chief guest and president of the inaugural function falg off the first match which was played between host Manipur and Nagaland.
Manipur beat Nagaland 21-9, 21-4 in the first match.
In today's another league match of women's category, Mizoram beat Tripura 21-8, 21-9 .
