Grassroot development programme commences at Khuman Lampak

Imphal, August 27 2017:
Under the sponsorship of the Tata Trusts, the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) is organising grassroot football development programme in 10 centres in the state.
It was declared as officially open today in a function held at the Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak in the presence of Amritaj Patwar-dhan, Head, Education and Sports, Tata Trusts, S Sanatomba, President, AMFA, and Vishwanath Sinha, Zonal Head, Northeast Tata Trusts .

On the occasion, A Patwardhan remarked that the Manipuri women’s football is one of the best at the national level and the programme has been initiated to produce more proficient footballers and guide young players from the grassroot level .
In the opening ceremony, V Sinha said the state is remarkably conducive for the game and expressed the desire to create an ecosystem to produce the best with this programme .
The Tata Trusts has been playing a crucial role in developing games and sports in Manipur and it had already selected 15 young players who will undergo a five-year training in Germany.
