6th Ksh Nonigopal Memorial Football Tournament Walk over for WJFC, win for Chiru FC

WJFC, Jiribam received a walk over as Itkhola Club, Silchar failed to turn up for their scheduled match in the preliminary knock out round of the ongoing 6th Nonigopal Memorial Invitation Football Tournament at Jiribam Government Higher Secon-dary School today.
On the other hand, in the second match of the day, Chiru SC managed to scrape past Kuki SC by the margin of 1-0 .
With today's loss, Kuki SC have crashed out of the tournament, which is organised by the All Jiribam Sports Association.
In the second match, Kuki FC won the toss and chose the side giving the chance to start the match to Chiru FC.
The two teams were equally matched and neither team gave an inch to the other and the breather was sounded with both teams locked in a goalless draw.
After the lemon break the deadlock continued with neither team able to break into the territory of the other.
With both teams equally matched, the spectators were treated to some well executed moves in their bid to control the mid field and run down the flanks.
But tight marking from both sides denied the forward lines of either side to take a serious look at the goal mouth of the other team.
So intense was the match that two players of Kuki FC were booked.
Abraham of Chiru FC did the star turn when he found the goal with a rasping shot in the 85th minute.
