District level football coaching camp ends

The coaching camp for the 3rd edition of the District Level Winter Football of United Ukhrul Football Club (UUFC) concluded today with a special seminar on career, prospect of football and women empowerment through sports.
In the day long seminar, Khareithan secretary UUFC emphasized on the problems and shortcomings and delved on why Ukhrul district has not been to produce sportspersons who can compete and excel in the international arena till today.
Citing some reasons, he said that lack of sporting infrastructure like stadium, lack of support from the parents, absence of sports culture in the district are some factors why the district has not been able to produce world class sportspersons.
The main focus of UUFC is development at the grass root, he said and added that the district need to promote sporting culture so that the inborn talent and potential of the youngsters may be harnessed meaningfully.
Executive member of UUFC Mashunrin dwelt on the need to promote women in different sports discipline.
UUFC will soon launch a new project to empower women through sports and recalled how they organised a football coaching stint with Baichung Bhutia Football Academy in 2015 .
Altogether 81 players participated in the 10 day football coaching camp of UUFC.
More than 200 parents attended the seminar today at TTA hall Hamleikhong.
