Imphal, February 20 2017:
ESU brushed aside the challenge of NAPSA downing them by six wickets in the ongoing MCA T20 Luwangpokpa Trophy today at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium at Luwangshangbam today.
On winning the toss NAPSA opted to bat first and ESU took to the field with their bowlers leading the way in restricting the batsmen of NAPSA effectively.
Mihul did the star turn for ESU grabbing three wickets and not allowing the batsmen of NAPSA to settle down.
Keeping a tight line and length, Mihul managed to keep the batsmen of NAPSA down not allowing them to open their bat through out his bowling spell.
Only two batsmen of NAPSA made meaningful contributions with the bat.
Ranjan led the way in compiling a slow but steady 33 runs off 49 balls.
Keeping him company was Pritam who made 23 runs off 32 balls.
On the other hand Mihul found support in Chitaranjan who managed to scalp one and restrict NAPSA at 90 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Set a target of 91 runs to win the match, ESU did well to find the gaps and send the loose balls to the boundary occasionally.
Leading the scoring was Mihul who compiled 43 runs off 49 balls and Bobby who made 19 off 39 balls.
For NAPSA Roben did well in picking up two wickets while Prameshwor and Nitish followed with one wicket each.
For his contribution with the bat and ball, Mihul walked away the man of the match award.
