T20 Luwangpokpa Trophy ESU, SCCC carve out big, convincing wins

Eastern Sporting Union (ESU), Wangkhei and SCCC, Singjamei carved out big and convincing wins against their respective opponents in the ongoing MCA T20 Luwangpokpa Trophy underway at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangshangbam today.
In first match of the day, ESU won the toss and opted to bat first against YWC, Patsoi.
Riding on the contributions of their frontline batsmen, ESU managed to compile 157 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, with Mihul leading the way with a quick fire 37 runs off only 25 balls.
Mihul was ably assisted by Shankar who made a well composed 27 runs off 32 balls and a swashbuckling 19 runs off only 9 balls from Balajit.
Balajit carried his bat through the innings.
Extending them ample support was Chittaranjan who made a quick fire 15 runs off only 10 balls and Surjit who made a run a ball 15 runs off 15 balls.
For YWC, Rakhesh and Amitra led the bowling attack scalping two wickets each.

Surjit and Priyobarta chipped in with one wicket each.
Faced with the task of totalling 158 runs to win the match, the batsmen of YWC started cautiously but the bowlers of ESU lived up to the task at hand and managed to keep them tied down with some accurate bowling.
Amitra did well to score 39 runs off 49 balls and take his bat through the innings but wickets falling at regular interval at the other end.
Amarjit made a cautious 9 runs off 20 balls and Rakhesh chipped with 7 runs off 9 balls.
For ESU, Herojit and Premananda led the way in taking two wickets each followed by Leishemba, Chittaranjan Sharma and Shankar who bagged one wicket each.
At the end of 20 overs, the YWC batsmen were bundled out for 97 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
Mihul of ESU was awarded the man of the match title for his scintillating 37 runs off only 25 balls and for picking up one wicket.
In the second match of the day, SCCC, Singjamei managed to successfully chase the target of 114 runs, scoring 115 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 16.1 overs against RRCC, Churachandpur.
On winning the toss, RRCC opted to bat first but started feeling the pinch with the bowlers of SCCC extracting bounce and turns from the wicket.
Hemcha led the scoring for the Churachandpur boys, scoring 48 runs off only 46 balls.
He was well supported by Devraj who scored 22 runs off 24 balls and Haojalen who made 15 runs off 22 balls.
For the bowlers of SCCC, Borish was the pick of the lot picking up three wickets followed by Gilchrist with 2 wickets.
Kishan chipped in with one wicket.
Chasing the target of 113 runs, the batsmen of SCCC quickly fell in place and all their frontline batsmen found themselves among runs.
Pranjit led the way in making a quick 26 runs off 21 balls followed by Kishan who delivered with a quick 25 runs off 17 balls and Gilchrist who scored 15 runs off 11 balls and Natra who made 11 off 20 balls and helped SCCC win the match by 5 wickets.
For RRCC, Elan picked up two wickets followed by Momoun and Hemcha with one wicket each.
Borish of SCCC got the man of the match award for his 3 wickets haul.
