Mahesh to participate Asian Beach Games

Imphal, November 13 2014:
State Triathlon player Lourembam Mahesh will leave Imphal tomorrow for Thailand to participate in the forthcoming 4th Asian Beach Games to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from November 17 to 22, 2014 .
The 19-year old state athlete started his national career in June, 2005 participating the 22nd Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championship held at Trivandrum.
In the next year, he again took part the same championship which was held at Bangalore in 2006.In 2007 he participate in the 52nd National School Games held at Goa.
His first medal came as gold in the event of 50m Breast Stroke in the 24th Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championship held Goa in 2007.In the same year, he bagged silver medal in the 53rd National School Games in Gurajat in the same event.
But in 54th National School Games 2008-09 which was held at Pune, he captured three gold medals in the evens of 50m, 100, and 200m Breast Stroke.
He got his first national aquatic reputation in the year 2009.He clinched one gold and one silver medals in the 36th Junior National Aquatic Championship-2009 held in Jaipur City, Rajasthan from June 22 to 27 in the events of 50m and 200m .
Mahesh began his Triathlon venture in 2011 by participating 20th National Aquathlon & Triathlon Championship-2011 held in Raipur, Chattisgarh from November 26 to 27 .
He won one gold and one bronze medal (Junior group) in his debut.
In the National Triathlon/Aquathlon Championship-2012 held in Indoor, Madhya Pradesh, he bagged bronze medal (Junior Group).
In January this year, he clinched a Silver Medal (Senior Group) in the National Triathlon/Aquathlon Championship held in Maharashtra.
Mahesh is the son of (L) Lourembam Kiran and Lourembam (O) Bijenti of Wangkhei Ninthem Pukhri Mapal, Imphal.
