9th Senior Women Football league : YWC edge past KRYPHSA 2-1, MPSC hold ESU

The 9th AMFA Senior Women's Football League for BM Singh Trophy which was stalled for few days resumed today at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.
The day saw YWC, Langthabal manage a 2-1 win over KRYPHSA, Naoremthong while MPSC and ESU, Wangkhei played out a goalless draw to share the spoils.
KRYPHSA were 1-0 ahead till opening half in the first match of the day but their defence line up degrades in the second half and YWC were quick to take advantage and sealed the 2-1.The game began with both teams marking well each other to thwarts the incomings until N Ratanbala found the breakthrough in the 31st minute.
The Langthabal side which were struggling hard to draw parity, got the much anticipated equaliser just seven minutes into the second half with S Rinaroy deftly calculated the position of KRYPHSA keeper who was away from the goalline before sending the ball from the midfield.
It was an end to end affair after the equaliser as both teams toiled hard for the breakthrough but YWC were the luckier side as they found the lead when Rinaroy took a free kick which connected unmarked S Lynda Kom who cooly placed the ball into the net in the 62nd minute.
Although, KRYPHSA mounted pressure in search of the equaliser, YWC players were on their best to keep away all threats at bay and enjoyed a 2-1 win at the end.
KRYPHSA's Dangmei Grace (71') and YWC's Ksh Naocha (Addl time) were yellow carded by the referee.
S Rinaroy of the Langthabal side was adjudged player of the match.
In the second match of the day, ESU Wangkhei and MPSC had fair share of chances in both halves but failed to found the net as their attempts were too blunt or lack sharpness and accuracy.
Ng Bala of MPSC was yellow carded in the 27th minute of the play.
Though the game ended in a goalless draw, A Romi of MPSC was named player of the match.
KRYPHSA will face MPSC in the fifth match of the league tournament on December 10 at 9 am while YWC will take on ESU, Wangkhei in the 6th match latter at 2 pm.
