SFI notifies

The Swimming Federation of India (SFI) has notified all affiliated member units and swimmers that an upcoming event � Masters Swimming Championship, organised by the Masters Aquatic Federation of India which is scheduled to be held on September 24 and 25 at Secunderabad is not a recognised event by the SFI.
According to a statement issued by SFI chief executive officer Virendra Nanavati, in India SFI is the only body recognised by FINA (an International governing body of swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and open water swimming) .
Those units/swimmers who encourage or join in such activities will be banned from all official events.
As per the SFI, the Masters National Swimming Championship will be held from Oct 21 to 23 at Secunderabad, Telangana, added the statement.
