2nd Heibok T-20 Cricket : Sultan scores 63-baIl 150 to help CHAMP demolish KIYC by 221 runs

Sultan was in prolific form today as he scored an unbeaten 150 runs in just 64 runs, the highest so far in the 2nd Heibok T-20 Cricket tournament to give CHAMP, Khagempalli a huge 221 run win against KIYC, Kshetri Iril Mapal in a Group D league match today at Langthabal Public Ground.
In the Group C league match staged latter, YWC, Langthabal romped to a 7 wicket win against RRCC, Churachandpur to cruise into the quarter finals unbeaten.
The first match of the day witnessed CHAMP win the toss and went in to bat first.
It was a butter smooth campaign for the CHAMP batsmen as Sultan scored at will to secure 150 runs and Priyojit superbly hit a half century (81 runs in 39 balls) and remained not out to post a gigantic 284 runs for 2 in 20 overs.
Bonny of CHAMP added 23 runs before he went out in this innings.
Nishikanta of KIYC picked up a wicket in the first innings before he scored 10 runs in the chase that slumped to 63 runs for 8 in 20 overs.
Rahim made another 11 runs for KIYC while the other batsmen either fell easy prey to CHAMP bowlers or could not make much runs.
Sultan of CHAMP also picked up 2 wickets in the second innings and claimed the man of the match title while Ravi and Langonyamba did the same in their spell of 2 and 3 overs respectively to give CHAMP an impressive 221 run victory.
In the Group C league match, RRCC, Churachandpur who opted to bat first, were restricted to a paltry 78 runs for 9 wickets down in 20 overs by YWC, Langthabal which cruised to the target with ease in just 9.4 overs for 3 wickets.
Elan tried hard to build batting momentum for RRCC but his journey with the bat ended with 35 runs in 59 balls.
Johnson of the same team managed 12 runs.
Sunil and Priyo of YWC scalped two wickets each in the first chukker before the team racked up 82 runs for a huge 7 wicket win and their fourth in the tournament.
Bikramjit of YWC made the most of the scoring hitting 37 runs in 27 balls en route to their huge win and was latter adjudged man of the match.
Muan and Mangboy RRCC claimed one wicket each in this innings.
Yesterday, CYCLONE, Thangmeiband bounced back from an earlier tie loss to post an 85 run victory against TCMDC, Thongju while REYS, Nagamapal sealed an emphatic 80 run win against SU, Sagolband.
REYS will meet Al Ameen in a Group B clash while CYCLONE will face CRAU latter tomorrow in a Group A league match.
