TAYA Annual Sports Meet : Kholjang YC lift champions trophy

Kholjang Youth Club (A) emerged champions ofthe43rd Tujang Area Youth Association (TAYA) Annual Sports 2021 held at Tujang Area playground in Kangpokpi district after defeating Cananphai Youth Club in the final today.
Kamkhosat hattrick (34, 36' and 61') gave Kholjang Youth Club (A) a 3-2 win over Cananphai Youth Club for the title.
Haokholet (29') and Mangneo (77'-Penalty) on the other hand scored for the losing team in the 5 goal thriller.
The closing ceremony of the sports meet was graced by Kangpokpi AC MLA, Nemcha Kipgen as the chief guest while BP Vikas Basnet, ex-Executive Member ADC; Milan Pradhan, ex-ADC Sadar Hills Member; Lamminthang Kipgen, ex-ADC Sadar Hills member attended as guest of honours and Lamkholen Kipgen, ex-Executive Member ADC Sadar Hills attended as functional president.
After unveiling the winners' trophies in various categories, Kangpokpi AC MLA and former Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen asserted that education and games and sports must go hand in hand as man cannot survive with education only without fitness.
Thanking the Almighty for the blessed days amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Nemcha Kipgen said that we are blessed today as we can resume our beautiful games and sports after almost a year owing to the pandemic.
Pointing out that the President of India had declared our beautiful State as the 'powerhouse of sports', she expressed happiness that the district is continuing its contribution in various sports disciplines.
While stressing on the role of games and sports, MLA Nemcha Kipgen said that indulging in sports activity is must for overall well being, in promoting value of self preservation and for development of teamwork and sportsmanship skill.
She also called on youths to refrain from indulging in intoxicants for they only waste valuable time, health and financial resources.
The MLA also expressed that TAYA annual sports meet will help raise the area's sporting profile.
She further said that JNV Kangpokpi building construction will be completed very soon at its permanent site in Tujang area and it will certainly provide a major boost in the education sector.
The ex-councillors of ADC Sadar Hills also spoke on the occasion and exhorted the youth of Tujang area to exhibit true sportsmanship spirit in the area.
Champions, Kholjang Youth Club (A) were feted with a trophy, certificate, medals and cash prize while runners up Cananphai Youth Club were awarded a shield cup, certificate, medals and cash prize.
