State Level Wushu Championship SAI-RC inch closer to championship title

Imphal, February 28 2018:
SAI-RC continue to top the medal tally of the 18th State Level Sub-Junior and Junior Wushu Championship 2018 (boys and girls) being organised by Wushu Association of Manipur at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak for the two consecutive days.
SAI-RC today added another 9 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze to stay on top with a total of 19 gold, 10 silver and 4 bronze medals while Central Wushu Institute (CWI) are on the second position with a total of 14 gold, 9 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Sub-Junior Boys (Group B) .
SAI-RC today fetched the first gold medal in the sub-junior boys Group-B Jianshu event through Bishorjit who secured 6.70 points.
Zenith of the same unit scored 6 point in the Daoshu event to win the second gold medal.
N Bishworjit of SAI-RC bagged the third gold medal in the Quanshu event of the same category scoring 6.86 points.
Sub-Junior Boys (Group C) .
In the sub-junior boys Group-C Daoshu event, Thounganba scored 7.29 points to add another gold medal to SAI-RC's tally while his compatriot, Kerin bagged the silver medal with 6.92 points.
Reynold of CWI claimed the bronze medal in this event with 6.42 points.
In the Jianshu event of the same category, A Tapas of SAI-RC won the gold medal scoring 7.37 points.
CWI bagged the silver and the bronze medals in this event.
Thoungamba of CWI bagged the first gold medal for his unit in the Gunshu event registering 7.33 points while Jupiter of Imphal East and Th Kerin of SAI-RC finished second and third to bag the silver and the bronze medals.
In the Quanshu event of the same category, A Tapas of SAI-RC won another gold medal with 7.43 points while Nelson of CWI bagged the silver medal with 7.23 points.
CWI bagged both the gold and the silver medal in the Taijiquan event through Thounganba Aheibam and Angom William registering 7.16 and 6.86 points respectively.
Sub-junior Girls (Group B) .
In the Daoshu event for sub-junior girls staged today, CWI's Ningthibi bagged another gold medal for her unit scoring 6.99 points while Y Echanbi of SAI-RC won the silver medal.
In the Jianshu event, CWI bagged another gold medal through Omega who registered 6.86 points.
SAI-RC's Geeta bagged the silver medal in this event with 6.36 points.
CWI's Oinam Malem added another gold medal in the Taichiquan event scoring 7.60 points.
In the Quanshu event of the same category, Geeta of SAI-RC bagged the gold medal striking 6.23 point.
Sub-Junior Girls (Grp C) .
In the Daoshu event for sub-junior girls (Group C), Ng Kajal of CWI bagged the gold medal scoring 7.36 points while Erika of SAI-RC claimed the silver medal with 6.56 points.
In the Jianshu event, Keya of CWI added another gold registering 6.60 points while SAI-RC's Taniya scored 6.59 points to win the silver medal.
Kajal added another gold medal in the Gunshu event of the same category while Y Livia of Imphal East finished second to win the silver.
Erika of SAI-RC bagged the bronze medal in this event.
In the Quanshu event, Taniya of SAI-RC scored 6.69 to bag the gold medal while Keya of CWI bagged the silver medal with 6.66 points.
Jona Prince added another gold medal for CWI making 7.13 points in the Taichiquan event while L Pinky of the same unit finished second to win the silver.
Britain Mangsatabam of CWI also bagged the bronze medal in this event.
Junior category .
SAI-RC's Sh Subita scored 6.83 in the Nandao event for junior girls while H Karnajit of the same unit bagged a gold medal in the Taichiquan event for junior boys.
In the Taolu group event CWI's A Thoungamba, A Thounganba L Nelson, O Malemnganbi, Ng Kajal and Kh Omega scored 7.46 points in 3.08 seconds to win the gold medal while Imphal East team bagged the silver medal with 6.9 points in 2.31 seconds.
The championship will conclude tomorrow.
