MCA T 20 Luwangpokpa Trophy ; TRAU, Model Club score outstanding wins

TRAU, Kwakeithel and Model Club, Chingamakha scripted out-standing wins against their rivals in the MCA T20 Luwangpokpa Trophy under-way at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium at Luwang-shangbam today.
In the morning match of the day, TRAU outbatted and outbowled YAC, Yaiskul to notch up a convincing win by 7 wickets with their bowlers demolishing the batting line up of YAC.
On winning the toss, YAC opted to bat first and were bundled out for a mere 56 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Taking advantage of the over cast sky, TRAU bowlers kept a tight line and length and tormented the batsmen of YAC with some accurate bowling.
So incisive was the attack of TRAU that only a single batsman of YAC managed to reach double digit.
With the frontline bowlers of TRAU keeping a tight lease, wickets continued to fall at regular interval with Raju leading the way in bagging three wickets.
Raju was ably assisted by Priyojit and Bobin who scalped two wickets each.
Kenton and Saroj chipped in with one valuable wicket each.
For YAC, Monorjit topped the scoring chart with 13 runs which came off 21 balls.
Priyo and Sunil could manage only 9 runs off 20 balls and Sunil 7 runs off 14 balls.
The innings of YAC folded up for 56 runs all out in 20 overs.
Set a target of 57 runs to register a win, TRAU batted sensibly with Priyonjit leading the way with a well made 21 runs off only 18 balls.
Karnajit followed with 14 runs off 14 balls and Rinju with 11 runs off 12 balls and over hauled the target of 57 runs for the loss of only three wickets.
For YAC Jemson scalped three wickets followed by Sadananda who bagged one wicket.
In the second match of the day, Model Club, Chingamakha won the toss and opted to bat first against ESU, Wangkhei.
Dhamendra top scored with 34 runs off 38 balls followed by N Basit who scored 20 runs off 21 balls and Priyobarta with 16 runs off 26 balls.
At the end of 20 overs, Model Club totalled 113 runs for the loss of seven wickets.
Set a target of 114 runs to win the match, the innings of ESU folded up quickly falling to the incisive bowling attack of Model Club.
Bishworjit did the star turn grabbing four wickets and he was ably assisted by Nazir and Tejkumar who scalped two wickets each.
For ESU, Chittaranjan led with 21 runs off 31 balls and Balajit with 8 runs off 18 balls.
The innings of ESU folded up for 58 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Bishworjit of Model Club won the man of the match award for grabbing 4 wickets.
