Gold medalist S Amar felicitated

Wangkhem Muslim Development Association (WMDA Club) on Thursday felicitated Sangomsumbam Amar, who won a gold medal in kick boxing competition at the 1st Mount Everest International Games 2021 held at Kathmandu, Nepal on September 10 and 11 .
Amar is the second child of Md Rashid Ali and Kheijan of Wangkhem Muslim, Thoubal district.
He won the gold medal in the 50 kg category, defeating opponents from Bhutan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal.
Amar underwent training under coach Jit Khumancha of Singjamei.
Intending candidate of BJP Kharibam Jiban, Bashir Ahamed and WMDA Club president Md Safique attended the function as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, Kh Jiban noted that education alone cannot bring glory to the state.
Sports play an important role in this regard, not to mention of helping to keep the mind and body healthy.
He then lauded S Amar on his win, while assuring of all possible support to Amar and other sportspersons so as to help them excel in the future.
As part of the event, WMDA Club presented Amar with a certificate and cash incentive, while social worker Kh Jiban also presented him cash award.
