MCA celebrates 42nd anniversary

The 42nd Anniversary of Manipur Cricket Association (MCA) was held at the Classic Grande, Chingmeirong today .
At the function, floral tributes were paid to the late four founder members of the MCA .
An anniversary souvenir was also released at the function .
Chief guest of the function Th Shyamkumar, Minister MAHUD stressed the need to support young players physically and financially from the grass-root level so that there is no hurdle in achieving their dreams.
He also stressed on the importance of proper fund management in every sports discipline to ensure steady flow of funds to the players in need.
He also appealed to the young as well as senior cricketers to work hard to bring laurels for the State .

N Prabin Singh, IAS, Director Youth Affairs and Sports speaking as the guest of honour, informed the gathering that MCA will soon receive fund of Rs 9.76 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the construction of gallery at the Luwangshangbam Cricket Stadium and flood lighting would be installed at the stadium soon .
He also sought the support of Manipur Cricket Association members to help in taking the cricket movement in the State to the next level .
MLA RK Imo Singh, President of Manipur Cricket Association attended the function as the president.
Members of MCA, former players, senior and junior players among others also attended the function.
