Unique Model Academy emerge U-14 boys champions

Imphal, August 29 2018:
Unique Model Academy, Imphal East thumped Seikhor Christian High School, Ukhrul 2-0 to clinch the U-14 boys� title of the ongoing State Level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament-2018 organised by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
Unique Model Academy's one goal each half ensured them the title today.
H Kiran scored the opener in the 19th minute before M Stalin scored the decisive goal in the 37th minute.
Earlier, Seikhor Christian HS sealed a 2-0 win over Kakching Wairi High School, Kakching riding on Changureng (15') and Yuimikamkar (25') to book the final berth while Unique Model Academy downed Springfield School, Thoubal with the same margin.
Kiran and Stalin who slotted the winning goals in the final were busy in adding one goal each in the 7th and the 21st minute and helped their team set up the final clash with the Ukhrul side.
U-17 boys competition
The semi-final line up of the U-17 boys completed today with Anallon Christian Institute Higher Secondary School, Chandel; Bright Career Academy, Imphal East; Seikhor Christian High School, Ukhrul and Baptist English High School, Kangpokpi emerging Group winners.
Anallon Christian Institute Higher Secondary School will take on Bright Career Academy in the first semi-final tomorrow at 7 am while the second semi-final match will be played between Seikhor Christian High School and Baptist English High School at 8.30 am.
The winners will face each in the final latter at 2 pm.
In the last Group A league match of the day, Anallon Christian Institute Higher Secondary School continued their fine form to outshine Berean Academy, Noney by 4-1 margin and eventually emerged the group winners.
The match started with a bang as Robert of the Chandel side found the net early in the 1st minute before his compatriot Joshua banged in two goals back to back in the 5th and the 6th minute and put the Chandel side clearly ahead with a three goal lead.
Chunchampou of Berean Academy, however pulled back a goal in the 19th minute to cut the deficit but could not stage a comeback in the latter part.
Berean Academy successfully put off the pressure for major portion of the second half but crumbled in the latter part as the Chandel side came up with a barrage of shots.
Subsequently the defence wall was breached and it was Molalngam who pounced on a loose ball in the box and buried the ball past the custodian of the Noney side in the 50th minute and helped his team wrap up the game 4-1 .
In the last Group B league match of the competition, Seikhor Christian High School edged past Parbung Hr Secondary School, Pherzawl by 5-2 goals and emerged group winners.
T Nungonba (18'), Peniel Shatsang (32', 60') and Chihanphang (47, 59') scored for the winning side while Ghanglenjohn (13') and John Lalruolsang (15') scored for the Pherzawl side.
The Group C league match of the day saw CT Hr Secondary School, Imphal West hold Thinungei Phubala High School, Bishnupur to a 2-2 draw.
