Thoubal District T-20 Cricket Tournament : CAL romp to 4-wicket win against LCIC

CAL, Lilong Masjid Road opened its winning account in the Thoubal District T-20 League cum Knock-out Cricket Tournament 2018 with a 4 wicket win over LCIC, Mairen Khun today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam while Al-Ameen thrash WYC, Wangkhem by 62 runs in another match to inch closer to the knock-out round of the tournament.
The tournament which is being organised by Thoubal District Cricket Association and a total of 4 teams are participating in it.
The first of the day saw, LCIC opt to bat first and stack up 114 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs.
CAL were able to chase down the target in 18 overs losing 6 wickets to post first win of the tournament.
Mirsha of LCIC made an average start scoring 38 runs off 41 balls while Baboy produced a fine form striking 61 runs in 68 balls he faced to take the score past 100.Rafiq also scored 6 runs in this innings.
Rajak of CAL picked up two wickets in 4 overs offering 20 runs in this innings while Raish claimed one wicket in 2 overs giving 8 runs.
In response, Aziz scored 39 runs in 38 balls while Jehangir added 13 runs in 20 balls.
Raish scored 17 runs and remained not out as they make a total of 115 runs with two more overs to spare.
Mirsha and Nanao of LCIC scalped two wickets in this innings while Mudasir and Sadam took one wicket each.
M Baboy was adjudged man of the match.
The second match of the day witnessed Al-Ameen get better of WYC by 62 runs.
Al-Ameen which won the toss elected to bat first and piled up a huge target of 173 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs.
Samir took off the game with a flying start as he blazed an outstanding 86 runs in 53 balls while Abdullah aided Al-Ameen with another 42 runs in 38 balls to take the scoreline beyond WYC's reach.
Sahdad also contributed 26 runs in 22 balls to make it 172 runs at the end of the first innings.
James of WYC claimed a wicket in this innings.
In reply, WYC slumped at 110 runs with all wickets down in 20 overs.
Mangi and Herokumar scored 24 runs each trying to bring up the team while Samungou scored 14 runs before going down by 62 runs in the hands of Al-Ameen.
Sahdad enjoyed a 4 wicket haul in 4 overs giving 20 runs while , Noushad and Samir picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively to hand Al-Ameen the second win of the tournament.
Samir of Al-Ameen who scored 86 runs was named man of the match.
