Imphal, May 26 2012:
Reacting against a report published in some local dailies today based on the allegations made by All Manipur Sportsman Guardians' Association, In-Charge of the SAI SAG, Khuman Lampak L Ibomcha clarified that the allegations made by the association are baseless.
Speaking to reporters in a press meet held at the conference hall of the SAG Centre, Ibomcha said that more than 80 percent of the over 100 SAI Sub Centres across the country have coaches as its in charge.
He is not holding the post of In-Charge as per his choice.
He was appointed for the post as per an official statement of the Director General of SAI, New Delhi on December 27, 1999 .
Even though he is holding the post of In-Charge, he is doing his duty as a coach at the same time.
If the players and people are not satisfied with him as the In-Charge of the Centre, he will resign from his post, he said.
He further said that the diets being provided to the trainees are arranged by Rs 125 per heads for a day.
Since Manipur is a land of frequent bandhs and blockades, the prices of the diets also change frequently.
Even though there are rules of providing mutton to the trainees, they are not able to provide them since the price of mutton are much higher in the state.
Sometimes, the trainees are not provided eggs due to non availability.
Even though, the officials are facing many problems in providing the proper diets with just Rs 125, they discussed the matter with the trainees and provide them whatever they can arranged with the amount, he added.
The coaches and officials of the Centre are having good relations with the trainees.
If anybody have doubts about anything regarding the Centre, they can come to his office and discuss the issue, Ibomcha said.
Karate Coach Kiran Kumar who attended the press meet appealed to the people of the state to bring peace and development in the Centre by discussing any problems with its officials.
