29th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament Contrasting wins mark day

Contrasting wins marked the day of the ongoing 29th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament with Nambul Mapal Polo Club edging past Tekcham Polo Club 4-2 while in the second match of the day, Khurai Polo Club thrashed Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club by 13 goals to 1.In the third match of the day, Manipur Police Sports Club comfortably overcame Fitness Polo Club by 6 goals to 2 .
The tournament is organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association and is being held at Mapal Kangjeibung.
In the first match of the day, Nambul Mapal Polo Club opened the account in the first chukker itself through S Girimohan only for Tekcham Polo Club to draw parity in the second chukker through S Dhaneshwar.
Nambul Mapal took the lead again in the 3rd chukker when I Sachindra found the target, with the Tekcham team drawing blank.
The team from Nambul Mapal increased the lead through S Girimohan in the fourth chukker while L Tarun added another one.
The Tekcham team replied with one goal through S Sova.
In the second match of the day, it was Khurai Polo Club all the way, whitewashing Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club by a huge margin of 13 goals to one.
Riding on a brilliant six goal blitz from P Ojit, the Khurai Club toyed around with the team from Thangmeiband conceding only one goal in the fourth chukker.
Khurai Polo Club opened the floodgates in the first chukker itself when it scored four goals, with P Ojit and K Jogindro finding the target twice each.
There was no looking back in the second chukker too, with P Ojit on target four times followed by P Jotin and K Jogindro with one goal each to take a comfortable lead of 10 goals to nil.
The Khurai team continued to pile the misery on the Thangmeiband team, with L Thompson, P Ojit and P Jotin bang on target to take their team's tally to 13 goals.
The consolation goal for the team from Thangmeiband came through Kh Mangalsana in the fourth chukker.
Manipur Police Sports Club did not face any stiff opposition as it easily brushed aside Fitness Polo Club by a margin of 6 goals to 2 in the third match of the day.
H Abung Khuman put the police team ahead in the first chukker by sounding the board twice in a row while Fitness Polo Club drew blank.
H Abung Khuman was at it again in the 3rd chukker scoring twice, while Fitness Club replied with one goal through Th Jacob.
The script ran along the same line in the 4th chukker with H Abung Khuman of the police team at it again to add another goal to his tally followed by Th Romen.
Th Jacob scored the second goal for Fitness Club.
