UTA lead tally with 14 gold medals in 31st Manipur State Taekwondo C'ship

Imphal, December 21 2018:
UTA added a total of 7 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze medals on the second day of the 31st Manipur State Taekwondo Championship, 2018 to go on top of the league table.
With today's medal haul, UTA are now standing at the top of the medal tally with 14 gold, 9 silver and 16 bronze medals while NSA are closely following in the second spot with a total of 10 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals.
Day 2 events
Sub-Junior Boys
L Rohit Meitei of HTA bagged the gold medal in the U-21 kg category event beating Khoisnam Mangal of PTA while semifinalists Athokpam Roshan of UTA and Nganba Laishram of Jiribam claimed the bronze medals.
L Surchandra of PTA bagged the gold medal in the U-25 kg category event coming out on top of Md Wahir Rahaman of Lilong while Kh Touna of PTA and Muhamed Haresh of Lilong finished with bronze medals.
The sub-junior boys U-29 kg category title went to M Shamson Singh of HTA while K Rajkumar of CTI finished second to win the silver medal.
L Nikesh of NSA and Kh Toni Singh of Jiribam who made it upto semi-finals got the bronze medals.
Cadet Boys
Y Ronel of HTA clinched a gold medal in the cadet boys U-37 kg event getting the better of Wangkhem Ranju of PTA in the final while Sandeep Heishnam of PTA and Kelish Arambam of UTA finished with bronze medals.
In the U-45 kg cadet boys event, L Nanglei Khumancha of NSA picked up the gold medal beating Kh Robert Singh of SAI- RC.
Korouhenba N and Kh Sanajaoba of SAI-RC were able to claim the bronze medals.
Jackson Yensembam of NSA claimed the U-49 kg title beating his compatriot L Lamnganba Meitei in the final while UTA's Robinson Konjengbam and Anish Saikhom of NSA claimed the bronze medals.
Arubam Kishan added another gold medal for NSA finishing first in the U-53 kg event while HTA's Akash Singh claimed the silver medal.
SAI-RC's Sairem Manoj and L Lucky of Nambol claimed the bronze medals in this category.
Junior Boys
S Sushil of NSA fetched the gold medal in the junior boys U-48 kg event beating N Redas of UTA while E Gungung and Waikhom Churchil of Nambol bagged the bronze medals.
In the U-51 kg final Jebiom Evansky R of NSA won the gold beating S Sarat Meitei of SAI-RC.
Chanam Santosh of Nambol unit and Kh Nongdamba of UTA were able to win the bronze medals.
L Lemba Meitei of NSA bagged another gold for the unit beating UTA's Nongdaren Khaba in the U-55 kg final while Ngangom Roshan of SAI-RC and Sh Dhanakumar of Nambol unit finished with bronze medals.
The U-63 kg category gold medal went to M Lamyanba of SAI-RC who overcame W Arson of the same unit in the final while UTA's Konsam Sanajaoba and Ningthem Silheiba settled with bronze medals.
Senior Men
UTA's Soraisam Lamjing and Sinam Sanjit finished first and second in the men's 58 kg category to win the gold and the silver while L Yaiphaba of SAI-RC and Kangujam Roshan of CTI were able to settle with bronze medals.
In the U-80 kg event W Koushar of Lilong won the gold medal.
Sub-Junior Girls
T Bheigyashree of PTA won the gold medal in the sub-junior girls U-22 kg event beating Gurumayum Chelsea of UTA while M Bansika of PTA finished with the bronze medal.
Laishram Alevia of UTA won the sub-junior girls U- 26 kg category gold beating her compatriot Nungshithoi Nongthombam in the final while Wangkheirakpam Tracy of the same unit bagged the bronze.
Cadet Girls
M Chingkheinganbi Chanu of Jiribam won the gold medal in the cadet girls U-33 kg event while PTA's Kh Chanchan Devi was crowned U-41 kg category winner after beating her compatriot Khaidem Kabita in the final.
Manda Yaikhom of NSA and Chingangbam Achanbi of PTA was able were able to get the bronze medal in the U-41 kg category.
Priyadarshini Mayengbam of UTA fetched a gold medal in the cadet girls U-44 kg event beating Monali Das of SAI-RC in the final while S Charlie of Marjing unit and Kh Zenith Chanu of PTA finished with the bronze medals.
In the cadet girls U-47 kg event, SAI-RC's Thiyam Lucky outshine Dayashree Takhelchangbam of NSA to win the gold medal while Naorem Reema of NSA and Kh Thoibisana of Jiribam unit finished with the bronze medals.
Junior Girls
Y Monita of CTI won the junior girls U-44 kg category gold medal while the U-49 kg category title went to Usham Gunapati of UTA.
Thokchom Sanjita of UTA beat MM Kajal in the U-55 to win the gold medal.
Senior Girls
Akoijam Devika of UTA won a gold medal in the U-49 senior girls event while Kasangailiu Riamei of SAI-RC and Khomdram Yaiphabi of UTA bagged the silver and the bronze medal.
K Nanaocha Devi of UTA was also able to claim the gold medal in the U-67 kg event.
The championship is being organised by All Manipur Taekwondo Association at Indoor Hall, Khuman Lampak featuring a total of 354 players from 15 units.
