4th MCA Plate Cricket Tournament : AL-AMEEN thrash Model Club by 10 wickets to win title

AL-AMEEN, Lilong clinched the title of the 4th Plate Tournament with an overwhelming 10 wicket win over Model Club, Chingamakha at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangshangbam today.
The tournament was organised by Manipur Cricket Association at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium and Langthabal Public Ground, Langthabal with a total 21 teams participating in it.
Lacklustre Model Club who elected to bat first, posted a paltry 90 runs for 10 in 28.3 overs.
AL-AMEEN did not find it hard as Babar Azam and Sameer combined well to hand the target in just 22.2 overs without losing a single wicket and finished their title campaign in style.
None of the Model Club batsmen looked determined as they went out with meagre scores.
Bijaykumar was the highest run getter with 14 runs in his name while Iboyaima gathered another 13 runs from around 9 overs he faced.
Tejkumar (12 off 20 balls) and Bishworjit (11 off 23 balls) also made their names on the scoresheet for the Chingamakha side.
Sameer (6 overs) and Babar Azam (7 overs) picked up 2 wickets each and helped in deteriorating the batting line up of Model Club gradually.
A1 Bashid and Naushad also claimed one wicket each in this innings.
In reply, Babar Azam blazed off 45 runs from 67 balls while his partner on the crease, Sameer also stuck well to make another 35 runs off 63 balls to help AL-AMEEN romp to a 10 wicket victory and eventually lift the title.
Y Khemchand Singh, Speaker Manipur Legislative Assembly; W Bhaktaraj, MCS, retd Director YAS and former secretary of MCA; S Priyananda, secretary; MCA; Col (retd) S Tekendrajit, former president, MCA; Ch Chaoba, Retd, Addl Director Dept of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, VP, MCA and L Binoy Singh, joint secretary, MCA graced the closing ceremony as dignitaries who also feted the winners and other participants.
Y Khemchand handed over the winners' trophy to AL-AMEEN with a cash prize of Rs 15,000.Model Club were also awarded with runners-up trophy along with Rs 10,000 .
Man of the final match, Syed Babar Azam was feted with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 500 on the occasion.
Raghav Singh of UCC emerged highest wicket taker of the tournament with a total of 18 wickets in his name and was awarded Rs 500 along with a trophy.
Y Kamajit of Model Club bagged the highest run getter trophy and Rs 500 for his 365 runs feat in the tournament.
He also bagged the most valuable player of the plate tournament trophy and a cash prize Rs 1000 for his consistent performance (80, 90, 55, 43**, 1, 35**, 0) .
