Imphal, April 16 2019:
North Eastern Re Organising Cultural Association (NEROCA) beat Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) by a slender 1-0 margin today in the 3rd match of the U-15 Boy's Hero India Youth League (Imphal Zone) organised under the supervision of All India Football Federation while Birachandra Memorial Sporting Club (BMSC) trounced FC Imphal City by 5-0 goals in the fourth match at Turf Khuman Lampak.
NEROCA which missed full points on the opening day had a good day out as Lairenjam Sushil struck a goal in the 33rd minute which was worthy enough of a winner as TRAU failed to put up a good show in both halves.
TRAU's Muinao Nganao Kami was yellow carded in this match.
It may be mentioned that TRAU sealed a convincing 4-2 win against FC Imphal City on the opening day.
In the second match of the day and the tournament's fourth, BMSC ran riot to thrash FC Imphal City by a huge 5-0 margin.
Captain of the team Kharibam Pravananda Meitei took the centrestage and led his team ably by scoring two goals, including the opener and the finisher.
BMSC took off the game on an attacking note showering a barrage of shots against FC Imphal City and took control of the first half with 3-0 lead.
Kharivam Pravananda found the breakthrough in the 14th minute of the match while Ngariyambam Yaiphaba extended the celebration with yet another goal the very next minute.
Michael Lunminlal Kipgen then fired in the third goal in the 36th minute of the match as FC Imphal failed to resist the BMSC forward from breaching their defence line.
After the break, BMSC pick up the game from where they left but faced some opposition from alerted FC Imphal City defence line.
FC Imphal City however could not hold off the pressure for long and it was in the 75th minute that Usham Ajeet Meetei banged in the fourth goal before Pravananda rounded off the scoring during the stoppage time and completed the 5-0 rout.
BMSC will host TRAU in the next match on April 19 at the same venue and FC Imphal City will host NEROCA in the second match the same day.
