Moirang Run 2019 : K Romajit clinches Half Marathon title

Khundom Romajit Singh made a mark by winning the title of Half Marathon title of the Moirang Run, 2019 organised by Historical Heritage Development Association under the theme "Run for Freedom ".
As a part of the event 8 km run for both men and women were also held.
Khundom Romajit of Khundrakpam took 1 hour 11 minutes and 48 seconds to finish the 21 km half marathon to win the 50,000 cash prize sponsored by A Birendra Singh, proprietor, Greenary E-motor.
Ningombam Pholendro Singh finished second with a time of 1 hour 12 minutes and 12 seconds in the same event and bagged Rs 30,000 cash sponsored by M Raju Singh, contractor, Sendra Road, Moirang while Laloo Herenj of Leimakhong, who finished third taking 1:12.33 was feted with Rs 20,000 sponsored by Dr M Premjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, CAU, Iroisemba.
K James of Leimakhong, Paotinmang Haokip of Leimakhong, Ksh Herojit of Naransena, S Romesh of Samurou, Laishram Rishikesh Singh of Sunusiphai, Tayenjam Loyanganba of Leimakhong, Moshilpa Makunga of Leimakhong, Mayanglambam Jamini Singh of Wairi, Wingoulu Chalunmai of NSU Imphal and Amit Mainali of Leimakhong were also feted with consolation prizes of Rs 1000 each sponsored by RK Kennedy Singh, manager, M Chand Plex, Moirang.
Joshua S of Leimakhong, Chaiman Meitei of Leimapokpam and Ganesh Magan of Leimakhong bagged the first, second and third prize respectively in the 8 km run for men and were feted with Rs 10,000; Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 each.
Nongthombam Chaoba Devi of Luwangsangbam on the other hand claimed the women's 8 Km run's title with a record time of 30 minutes 37.37 seconds while Sagolshem Premila (31:40.76) of Yairipok and Tayenjam Russia Chanu of Ngairangbam (31:55.04) claimed the second and third place.
Chaoba walked away Rs 10,000 richer while Premila and Russia got Rs 7,000 and 5,000 respectively.
10 following athletes in the two categories were also feted with Rs 1000 each.
