U-14 AITA Super Series : H Bushan, S Bhicky reach boys' singles quarter finals

Imphal, June 13 2018:
State shuttlers, Bushan Haobam and Sagolshem Bhicky to seal their quarter final berth in the U-14 AITA Super Series organised jointly by Manipur Tennis Association and Irnphal District Tennis Association under the aegis of All India Tennis Association at IDTA Deco Turf Lamphelpat today while Paras Lukram and Thokchom Neeraj suffered defeats to crash out of the tournament.
Bushan defeated Manan Nath who beat Paras Lukram 6-1, 6-4 points in the first round, by 8-1 points to cruise into the quarter finals while Sagolshem Bhicky outlasted Rushil Khosla 8-2 after a 6-4, 6-2 win over Ashwin Manikandan in the first round.
Tamoghna Das outclassed Sparsh Parmar 8-4 in the second round match to move into last 8 round while Lalhruaizei beat Daksh Prashad 8-6 to book the quarterfinals berth.
Arya Bhattacharya made himself into the quarterfinals with a 8-2 win over Sudhansu Barkataki, who beat Arya Mundhra 6-3, 6-1 in the first round.
First round clashes
Wyatt Obrien secured his second round berth with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Ramansh Sharma while Senjam Ashwajit got better of Rajivkumar Thongbam 6-1, 6-0 in an all Manipuri clash after Neeraj Thokchom conceded 2-8 in the hands of Anargha Ganguly in a second round match.
Heishnam Shanker also crashed out of the boys singles tournament with a 2-6, 2-6 loss to Aryan Shah.
Girls Singles
Shruti Ahlawat, Pravitra Parikh, Lakshmi Arunkumar, Shimreen Ahamed and Durganshi secured girls singles last 8 berths today.
Shruti Ahlawat who enjoyed a walkover in the first round, outclassed Dhani Shrivastava 8-0 to cruise into quater finals.
Dhani beat local girl, Bindiya Lamabam 8-4 in the first round before conceding to Shruti.
Ishita Singh went down 1-8 to Pravitra Parikh in a second round clash while Lakshmi Arunkumar overpowered Prisha Bhattacharjee who beat Ananya Borthakur 8-1, by 8-0 points to cruise into quarter finals.
Durganshi and Saumitra enjoyed walk-overs in the first round before Durganshi came up with 7-2 win to cruise into the quarter finals.
Sanareima Meidingu N also decimated Jaishwal Sumeira 8-0 to cruise into the second round today before Nongmeikapam Charmie sealed her second round berth beating Linda Laishram by 8-2 points.
Charmie will meet Srivally Medishetty in the second round for a place in the quarterfinals.
Thoibi Yumnam of Manipur went down to Laxmi Bogala by 3-8 sets in another first round clash.
