30th State Thang-Ta Championship : IKTCA bag 4 medals in Sub-Jr girls Phunaba-I events

Imphal, August 12 2019:
IKTCA, Moidampok earned 4 medals including 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze in the phunaba ama events for sub-junior girls staged today at Bakshi Indoor Stadium, Ukhrul district in the ongoing 30th State Thang-Ta Championship while MIMCTTA, Naoremthong earned 2 gold medals.
IKTCA which shone in the sub-junior boys phunaba ama events yesterday fetched more gold medals today as K Lucky finished on top in the -21 kg phunaba ama events for sub-junior girls.
She defeated M Ayingbi of MNLTCA, Heigrujam in the final.
N Lamjingbi of KTTCA, Lairikyengbam Leikai finished with the bronze medal in this event.
The unit's other gold was grabbed by A Dhanapati Devi who outwitted T Roshita Devi of Luwang Thang-Ta Academy, Sajor Leikai in the final -37 kg final.
T Tina Devi of KMTA, Pallel claimed the bronze medal of this event.
W Henthoi of MNLTCA bagged the -41 kg event gold while IKTCA's H Dolly and K Eliza bagged the silver and the bronze medal respectively.
MIMCTTA, Naoremthong bagged the gold medals through S Millionaire (-29 kg) who downed Meghana Wangkheimayum of Luwang Thang-Ta Academy in the final and Mangte Chanchan who overcame K Albina Devi of Thoibi Thang-Ta, Moirang in the -49 kg final.
Thoibi Thang-Ta, Pahulasi, KTA and Kanglasha also earned a gold medal each in the sub-junior girls phunaba ama events.
Junior Girls phunaba ama
Anjika, Sangaiprou collected a total of 3 medals, 2 gold and 1 bronze medals in the junior girls phunaba ama events while Luwang Thang Ta Academy, Thoubi Thang-Ta, TTM, EKVTA and PAHULASI managed a gold medal each.
Kh Yaiphabi earned Anjika a gold medal in the -52 kg event beating MIMCTTA's Saiphu Khamneiyang Kharam in the final while Kh Priyangka Chanu grabbed the -56 kg event gold effortlessly.
L Shelly won the -60 kg event's bronze as EKVTA's S Priyangka Devi and Priyangka Nongthombam of Luwang Thang-Ta Academy bagged the gold and the silver medals respectively.
Ch Diviya won the gold medal for Luwang Thang-Ta Academy in the -40 kg event while Ch Dinita Chanu (-48 kg) and Priyangka Nonthombam finished with silver medals.
Junior Girls phunaba anishuba
UDTA's Wontim PS and Themchui PS respectively bagged the -60kg and the -65 kg gold medals for junior girls phunaba anishuba events while IKTCA's K Merina won the -56 kg title.
Ch Riya Chanu of KKTCA bagged the -44 kg title without any contest while L Uma Devi of TTM bagged the -40 kg title after beating S Chaoba Devi of Senjam Khunou in the final.
Anjika's Th Pushparani beat Y Priya of TTM to win the -48 kg gold while H Shyllivia Devi of Thoibi Thang-Ta bagged the bronze medal.
Junior Boys
T Rajesh Singh won the -56 kg event gold medal for junior boys' phunaba anishuba event.
Rajesh beat S Bikram Singh of Anjika in the final forcing the latter to settle for the silver while W Nanaomacha of Universal Thang-Ta Academy was able to clinch the bronze medal.
KMTA, Pallel on the other hand managed 3 gold medals in the junior boys' phunaba ama events as Th Chinglensa (-44 kg); N Amarjit Singh (-48 kg) and H James (-52 kg) emerge on top in their respective weight categories.
Pahulasi's Befitjenos (-65 kg) and Leishemba Yengkhomcha (-70 kg) also won gold medals in this event.
Kanglasha's Ksh Bishwarjit (-60 kg); M Arbin (-56) of Thang-Ta Academy, Keibi and L Satyajit (-80kg) of MIYAM, Top also bagged a gold medal each.
The championship will conclude on August 13 .
