CCPur, October 11 2018:
The day's proceedings of Footgal 2018-5 A-side night Futsal, organized jointly by District Administration, Churachandpur and Lamka Core today at Rayburn HS premises began with a thrilling encounter between VENUS and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) where the former clinched a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the latter.
VENUS came from behind to rack a surprise 3-2 victory over their rivals in a match marked by intense and close battles between the two sides.
It was BBBP who went on the offensive first as Marilyn Hilsangkim and Kimnunsang found their targets to hand a two-goal lead to BBBP.
VENUS put up a spirited fight and found their hard-works paying dividends when Kimhoih netted two goals in quick succession to equalize the score.
After a close fight which was punctuated by many one-on-ones, Baby succeeded in finding the winner for VENUS as she was bang on target in the dying minutes of the game.
Even as BBBP players piled unabated pressures on their rivals defence line, they could not succeed to find any defensive lapse.
Kimnunsang of BBBP was yellow-carded for her unsporting behavior.
In the second match of the day, Chelsea India Supporters were at ease to romp home an overwhelming 7-2 victory over Bethesda College of Nursing.
Stephanie of Chelsea India Supporters was at her best when she hit a record six goals in succession.
Ruthy contributed a goal in Chelsea India Supporters' 7-2 devastating win while Haubiakjem struck twice as consolations for Bethesa College of Nursing.
The third exciting match of the day saw Vimala Raina HS sharing the spoils with Community Development Society (CDS).
Kimneilam of Vimala HS drew the first blood as she was on target to give the lead to her team.
However, CDS did not give in easily as Lamneihnieng found time and opportunity to neutralize and restore parity not long after.
Even as both sides put enough amounts of efforts to find the winner, their struggle could not simply materialize and the match, which was also delayed due to rain, ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw.
Meanwhile, hosts Rayburn FC hammered Obadiyah School 14-3 in the last match of the day.
