Sub-juniors Girls Football : Manipur set up summit clash with Odisha

Manipur beat Himachal Pradesh by 3-2 goals in a closely contested semi-final match today to set up a final clash with Odisha of the Sub-junior Girls National Football Championship 2018-19 on July 12 .
The tournament is being organised under the aegis of All India Football Federation at Cuttack, Orissa since July 1 with 22 teams clustered into 7 groups participating in it.
Manipur pulled off a 3-2 win against Himachal Pradesh in the first semi-final match to meet Odisha in the final showdown.
Odisha thrashed Kerala by 6-1 goals in the second semi-final match to secure a place in the final.
S Lynda Kom scored the opener in the 41st after a stiff competition to hand Manipur a 1-0 lead in the first half.
Lynda Kom then extended the lead to 2-0 when she fired in her second goal just two minutes into the second half.
Himachal Pradesh however staged a strong fight back to equalise the score through Anju (67', 75') .
The two sides fought hard for the winner in the latter part of the game and it was during the injury time that H Silky broke the deadlock to hand Manipur a 3-2 win and a place in the final.
