National U-14 School Games Archery : Manipur on the brink of becoming overall champions

Manipur are on the brink of becoming the overall champions of the archery competition as the third day saw 4 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals to make a total of 10 gold , 8 silver and 6 bronze in the archery competition held as a part of the 53rd National School Games 2017 at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex .
The competition is organised by the Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports under the supervision of School Games Federation of India.
Altogether 351 archers from 23 units are contesting in the championship.
Haryana are trailing behind Manipur with 9 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals while CBSE are in the third place with 2 gold medals and 1 silver and bronze each .
Yumnam Anupama Devi opened the gold medal account in the girl’s 30 m recurve event with 335 points followed by Bhagora Vhargabiben of Gujarat with 328 points and Komal Patwal of Maharashtra with 323 points to claim the silver and bronze medals respectively .
In the 40 m recurve event Anupama finished second and settled for the silver with 313 points .
Bhagora bagged the gold medal with 314 points while Susthi of Maharashtra settled for the bronze with 302 points .
Manipur’s Anupama also bagged two more gold medals in the 50 m and 60 m recurve event with 331 points and 325 points .
Komal Patwal and Bhagora clinched the silver and bronze medals with 317 points and 314 points respectively in the 50 m recurve event .
Bhagora and Siria Pardesi bagged the silver and the bronze medals in the 60m recurve event .
In the girl’s individual recurve event Anupama scored a total of 1304 points to win the gold medal followed by Bhagora with 1261 points and Komal Patwal with 1187 points to finish second and third .
In the boys 30 m recurve event, Haryana’s Ishant scored 382 points to bag the gold medal while Akoijam Amarjit of Manipur won the silver medal with 339 (X-7, 10-11) points.
Prashant of Jharkhand settled for bronze medal with 339 points (X-5, 10-13) .
In the boy’s 40 m recurve event, Arjun Sharma of CBSE won the gold medal with 322 points while Jharkhand’s Prashant and Md Aman Ali of Manipur claimed the silver and the bronze medals with 321 and 317 points respectively .
In the boy’s 50 m recurve event, Paras Hooda of Jharkhand bagged the gold medal scoring 335 points while Prashant of Jharkhand and Ishant of Haryana settled for the silver and bronze medals with 330 and 325 points respectively .
In the boy’s individual recurve event, Paras Hooda of Haryana won the gold medal with 1304 points closely followed by Prashant of Jharkhand with 1301 and Arjun Sharma representing CBSE with 1287 points to settle for silver and bronze medals .
In the girl’s recurve team event, the Maharashtra team which features Komal Patwal , Susthi Jogdan, Siria Pardesi and Ishika Talwade scored 3502 points to claim the gold medal beating their close competitor Manipur which comprises of Yumnam Anupama Devi, Lanchenbi Urungpurel, Mutum Bindiya Chanu and Ningthoujam Sonia which managed to post 3456 points to take the silver medal.
Punjab team comprising of Rabneet Kaur, Arman Kaur, Samib Kaur and Kummit Kaur scored 3251 points to claim the bronze medal .
Haryana’s Paras Hooda, Ishant Tikal and Mukun Sharma bagged the gold medal with 3722 points while a team of Aman Ali, Rahul Irengbam, Akoijam Amarjit and L Yaifaba representing Manipur won the silver medal by scoring 3698 points .
The Orissa team comprising of Khursan Madkami, Anil Uluka, Sanjay Dura and Arjun Marandi scored 3657 to settle for bronze medal.
