AITA Super Series : Manipur's Bushan, Pamei sail into quarter finals

Local lads, Bushan Hoabam and Rahul Pamei made theirplace into the boys' singles last 8 round defeating their respective rivals today in the AITA Super Series for U-16 boys and girls being organised by Manipur Tennis Association under the supervision of All India Tennis Association at Officers' Club's Deco Turf Tennis Court, Lamphelpat.
Boys Singles .
Haobam Bushan defeated Arka Banerjee of West Bengal 6-4, 6-1 to cruise into the last 8 round while Rahul Joshua Pamei edged out Suvrat Mall of Delhi by 3-1 sets.
Rahul lost the second set before wrapping up the game 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 to move into the quarter finals.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Aribam went down to Rishi Jalota of Chandigarh 0-6, 2-6 while Heishnam Shanker crashed out of the series after a 0-6, 2-6 loss to Amaan Adil of Maharashtra.
In other second round clashes, Nithis Baala Nalluswamy of Tamil Nadu got better of Ninaad Ravi of Karnataka 7-5, 6-1 to qualify for the quarter finals while Dhanush Patel of Gujarat who beat Wahengbam Padmeshwor outclassed Tanish Nahata of Delhi 6-3, 6-3 to move into the quarter finals.
In other matches, Medhansh Jain of Assam outclassed Kavin Karth of Tamil Nadu 6-1, 6-2 while Anchit Gogoi of Assam also made it through to the quarter final with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Siddharth Malik of Haryana.
Boys' Doubles .
Manipuri pair, Bushan and Rahul edged out Varan and Ninaad 6-4, 6-4 to enter into boy's doubles semi-finals while the pair of Tanish Nahata and Suvrat Mall overcame Kavin-Balaji duo 7-5, 6-3 to book the semi-finals berth.
Dhanush Patel and Rishi Jalota also made themselves into the semis with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Arunesh and Siddharth Malik.
Amaan Adil Tezabwala and Ayaan Tezabwala also partnered well to see off Rounik Ghosh and Bighnesh Nanda 6-4, 6-2 and completed semi-finals draw.
Girls' Singles .
Agu Yumnam of Manipur bowed out of the girls' singles competition with a 3-6, 3-6 loss to Sheerin Ahamed in a quarter final match while Ishika Chakma of Assam beat Ishita Singh convincingly by 6-0, 6-0 points to cruise into semi-finals.
West Bengal's Shatavisa Ghosh also made herself into the semis with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Ashley Gilby of Telangana while Shimreen Ahamed beat Ivana Singh of Delhi 6-0, 6-1 to complete semi-finals line up.
Girls' Doubles : .
Prisha Bhattacharjee and Laishram Linda beat the pair of Gayatri Ghosh and Yumnam Agu 7-5, 6-1 to set up girls' doubles semi-final clash with Ishika Chakma and Shatavisa Ghosh.
In another quarter final match, Ishita Singh and Thoibi Yumnam went down in the hands of Ivana Singh and Ashley Gilby 0-6, 2-6 .
