AITA Super Series Bhusan Haobam, Rahul Pamei storm into final

Imphal, December 06 2017:
The pair of Bhusan Haobam and Rahul Pamei cruised into the boy’s doubles final of the U-16 AITA Super Series 2017 organised by Manipur Tennis Association under the supervision of All India Tennis Association today at Deko Turf Court of Officer’s Club, Lamphelpat .
In the first boy’s double quarter final match, Akhilendra Indrabalan and Suvrat Mall beat the pair of Arjun Phogaat and Lestone 6-1, 6-2 to mark their entry into the semi-final .
In the second quarter-final match, Manipur’s Bhusan Haobam and Rahul Pamei saw off Amaan Tezabwala and Ayaan Tezabwala in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 .
Assam’s pair, Udit Gogoi and Promit Bordoloi were in their best forms and their well co-ordinated play outclassed the Manipuri duo, Mahesh Aribam and Neeraj Thokchom 6-1, 6-0 in the third quarter final match to enter the semi-final .
In the last quarter final match, Anchit Gogoi and Ajay Singh beat Manav Shreekumar and Pradeepkumar 6-4, 7-6, 6-0 and cruised into the semi-final .
In the first semi-final match, Bhusan Haobam and Rahul Pamei took the first set 6-2 but suffered a 3-6 loss to Indrabalan and Suvrat in the second set .
The Manipuri duo played out a close fight in the deciding set and succeeded in securing a 10-8 win to book a place in the final .
In the last semi-final match, Anchit Gogoi and Ajay Singh edged out Shreekumar and Pradeepkumar to set up a final clash with Haobam Bhusan and Rahul Pamei .
In the first quarter final match of boy’s singles, Udit Gogoi got the better of Haobam Bhusan 6-4, 6-2 while Akhilendra Indrabalan beat Suvrat Mall 6-2, 6-0 in the next match .
In the third match, Amaan Tezabwala outclassed Arjun Phogaat 6-2, 6-1 and Ajay Singh edged out Manav 6-2, 6-4 to enter the last 4 stage .
Semi-final line up of the U-16 girl’s has also been completed today with Bhakti Parwani, Kristi Boro, Koyena Sircar and Vaihnavi Adgar managing to beat their rivals .
In the first match, Parwani beat Ishika Chakma 6-4, 6-3.Kristi Boro also edged out Ananya Yadav with the same points .
In the third match, Koyena Sircar outclassed Khushi Sahi 6-1, 6-0 while Vaishnavi Adgar also defeated Khushi Rao Batulla 6-1, 6-0 to enter the semi-final.
