14th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament Champ down Model-B by one wicket

Team work and good show with the bat and ball helped Champ, Khagempalli down Model-B, Singjamei by one wicket in the ongoing 14th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at the ground of Oriental College and Model Higher Secondary School today.
On winning the toss, Model-B opted to bat first and their batsmen batted sensibly and managed to total 104 runs for the loss of ten wickets in 24.5 overs .
Taking time to settle down, Gourachandra made a patient 16 runs off 35 balls while Baleshore chipped in with a quick 12 runs off only 11 balls.
Doren also contributed 17 runs off 36 balls and Model-B managed to put up 104 runs.
On the other hand the bowlers of Champ kept a tight line and length and managed to grab quick wickets .
Bisheshor was especially incisive with his deliveries and apart from not delivering any loose balls managed to scalp three wickets.
Gopal and Jodiba also got into the stride and grabbed two wickets each while Ratan and Ibobi grabbed one wicket each.
The innings of Model B folded up at 104 runs for the loss of ten wickets.
Set a target of 105 runs to win, the batsmen of Champ started off well picking the loose balls and despatching them to the boundary with ease.
Wayward bowling from the bowlers of Model B also helped the cause of Champ to chase the target with ease.
Jodiba led the way with the bat scoring a brisk 24 runs off only 22 balls and he was ably assisted by Michael who compiled a patient 19 runs off 35 balls.
Tejbanta and Rajiv also chipped in with 14 runs off 13 balls and 13 runs off 17 balls respectively helping Champ win the match.
For Model-B Ashni did well to scalp two wickets while Doren also bagged three wickets.
Pyarelal was impressive returning with figures of two wickets.
Manikanta and Priyojit bagged one wicket each.
For his haul of two wickets and 24 runs, Jodiba of Champ was declared the man of the match.
