Students taught horse riding by MHRPA

Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA) has launched its Ride the Pony School Project today at the Pony Breeding Farm of the Association at Lamphelpat, Imphal.
The project is an initiative under the Save the Manipuri Pony programme of the association and was launched as the first Pony Riding Winter Camp for Mega Manipur School, Yaralpat, Imphal.
The camp is a preliminary exposure programme introducing students to the pleasures of horse riding as a gainful pastime.
The camp will conclude on January 6 .

In a statement, MHRPA, S Budhachandra mentioned that the purpose of the project is to revive the innate cultural traits and desires of Manipuri youths to ride the Manipuri Pony, as a pastime and as a sports as well.
It also mentioned that the association believes that the mass revival of basic horse riding among the youths of Manipur will go a long way in saving the Manipuri Pony from extinction. While expressing gratitude to the Mega Manipur School for their initiation of the programme for their students, the statement further mentioned that the project will target to all schools of Manipur and concerned authorities are also invited to contact the association for such cmaps for their students.
