IE 1st Divn Football : Convincing victories for SSC and ESU

SSC Porompat blanked NIVSO Keibi 2-0 in the 40th league match while ESU Wangkhei thrashed ABA Kshetrigao 5-0 in the 41st league match of the ongoing Moirangthem Ibobi Memorial Imphal East 1st Division Football League tournament 2019 organized under the aegis of Imphal East Football Association at Football Turf ground, Khuman Lampak today.
The venue of the tournament was shifted to Football Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak due to unfavourable ground and weather condition after the tournament was started at NESU Ground Khurai since August 21 with the participation of 10 teams.
In the first match of the day, both SSC and NIVSO started off on a cautious note but SSC surged ahead with 1-0 lead in the 12th minute of the match when Sahil of SSC connected a fine nick from his teammates which put SSC in a commanding position in the first half.
After the changeover, NIVSO started mounting pressure on SSC since the very beginning of the second half, but all their efforts were put at bay as SSC put up solid defence to sway away the onslaught.
Taking advantage of the weak defence of NIVSO as all their players moved forward in search of the equaliser, Jadhav of SSC scored a goal in the 69th minute to take home the match with 2-0 win.
Ph Lanthoiba, Y Ingobi, N Amarjit, T Premjit officiated the match as referee, AR 1, AR 2, and 4th official respectively while S Jameskumar and Modhuchandra officiated the match as match commissioner and referee assessor respectively.
In the second match, ESU and ABA competed neck to neck to outdo each other from the outset of the match, but ESU managed to penetrate the wall of ABA in the 28th minute through Bhaghirath to hand his team 1-0 lead at the end of the first half.
After the change of post, ESU started dominating the match with Bhagirath adding another goal in the 43rd minute to extend the lead to 2-0 while Thangbar, Maroon and Rajdhan respectively scored one goal each in the 50th, 77th and additional time to hand ESU a convincing 5-0 win over ABA.
For ESU, Arif and Chingkheinganba were yellow carded in the 79th and 80th minute during the match.
The officials who have officiated the match include N Ibungo, L Ropendro, L Raja, and Chingoiremba as referee, AR 1, AR 2 and 4th officials respectively while S Jameskumar and and Modhuchandra conducted the match as match commissioner and referee assessor.
