KNSAA emerge ovall team champions of 39th State Age Group Athletic C'ship

Imphal, October 02 2019:
KNSAA, Moirang were crowned overall champions at the 39th State Age Group Athletic Championship-2019 organised by Athletic Association of Manipur at Main Stadium Khuman Lampak, after the unit collected 32 gold, 23 silver and 14 bronze medals in the three day event.
The unit managed to add 13 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze medals on the last day to finish the best at the said championship which was participated by around 500 athletes from 25 athletic clubs and units affiliated to Athletic Association of Manipur.

Last Day events
1500 m Race
KNSAA's Babina won the 1500 m race title for U-18 girls finishing the course in 5 minutes 19.22 seconds and Anjina of LSA won the second place with a time of 6 minutes 12.25 seconds.
Ayekpam Sai Chanu of HYC earned the U-20 girls 1500 m title by completing the course in 5 minutes 46.31 seconds while KNSAA's N Sunita Devi (5:54.51) and M Ranjana Devi (6:24.71) bagged the gold and silver medals respectively in the women's 1500 m event.
KNSAA earned another gold medal in the U-18 boys 1500 m race surging home in 4 minutes 29.66 seconds while Md Sadique of LSA (4:24.60) and Kh Romajit of PRSC (4:36.15) bagged the U-20 and Men's gold medals respectively.
Javelin throw
KNSAA's Th Luxmi Chanu won the javelin gold for U-16 girls making the best effort of 21.54 m while Sh Memcha Chanu of HAU (18.75 m) and B Tamphasana of SAN (15.30) finished second and third to win the silver and bronze medals respectively.
Lukumoni Kardong of FUC earned the women's title with a 23.86 m throw and RAU's Sangita Deka who threw 20.76 m won the silver medal.
Wahida of LSA (26.24 m) and A Ranisha of MMC (16.26 m) finished first and second in the U-18 girls competition.
L Rupachandra of WSC (41.76 m), K Jemson of KNSAA (38.16 m) and Ch Bhagat of KNSAA (45.24 m) topped U-16 boys', U-18 boys' and U-20 boys' javelin throw events held today while S Sanajaoba of KNSAA bagged the men's gold with a best throw of 47.51 m.KNSAA's T Nanao bagged the silver medal in the men's event with a 45.82 m effort while MPSC's Y Bimol settled for the bronze medal with a 44.96 m throw.
100 m Race
Riziya of PRSC who clocked 14.02 seconds, S Nganthoi of SAIRC who took 13.79 seconds won the U-14 girls and U-16 girls 100 m race titles while Yaisana L of PRSC earned the U-18 girls title with a best time of 12.96 seconds.
PRSC's Pathak Jahmavi claimed the U-20 girls 100 m title reaching home in 13.18 seconds while A Surbala bagged the women's title with a poor 14.77 seconds finish.
On the other hand, N Umakanta of KNSAA (11.44 seconds), S Vickyson of KNSAA (11.74 seconds), S Sanatomba of SAIRC (11.50 seconds) and P Khasim Sharif of PRSC (10.84 seconds) won the U-14, U-16, U-18 and U-20 boys 100 m titles.
M Alken of KNSAA's raced home in 10.87 seconds to win the 100 m race gold for men while Samil Das of PRSC and Letjakai Lenthang of KNSAA took 11.09 and 11.24 seconds respectively to win the silver and the bronze medals.
High Jump
Ashamitra of MSC (1.25 m), W Juanita of HAU (1.20 m) and L Roshini of HAU (1.15 m) earned the U-14, U-18 and U-20 girls high jump titles respectively today while LSA's Md Aslam Khan (1.56 m), HAU's Sh Amit (1.56 m), Mangalsana of SAIRC (1.83 m) and Nimaichand A of PRSC (1.60 m) earned the U-14, U-16, U-18 and U-20 boys titles respectively.
W Rajkumar of KNSAA topped 1.65 m to win the men's high jump title while MPSC's Rameshchandra (1.60 m) and Roshan (1.50 m) bagged the second and third place for silver and bronze medals.
Relay
PRSC women took best 55.61 seconds to win the 4*100 Relay title as KNSAA (1:05.35) bagged the silver while KNSAA bagged the men's gold in the same event taking 44.25 seconds.
PRSC won both the men's and women's 4*400 m relay by taking 3 minutes 32.80 seconds and 4 minutes 48.06 seconds respectively.
Medley Race
KNSAA earned the medley race for boys with a 2:04.42 finish while SAIRC topped the girls competition with a time of 2:32.80 .
