LCCC, YWC script huge wins in MVCA T20 Cricket

LCCC, Chajing and YWC, Langthabal made winning starts in the MVCA T20 Cricket Tournament 2019 which kicked off yesterday at Langthabal Public Ground under the aegis of Manipur Veteran Cricket Association.
LCCC, Chajing notched up a huge 6 wicket win today against DSU, Kwakeithel in their first match as Rakesh (24 off 15 balls) and Pratap (14 runs off 20 balls) gave sensible performances to help LCCC cruise to the meagre 71 run target set by DSU in 10.5 overs by losing 4 wickets.
DSU had a disastrous start after opting to bat first as LCCC bowling attack led by Jilangamba triggered a big collapse.
Th Tarun top-scored for DSU with 13 runs in his name while AK Chingtam and S Romesh managed 10 and 7 runs each to make it 70 for 10 in 17.3 overs.
Jilangamba of LCCC shone with the ball as he picked up 3 wickets in 4 overs alone while Krishna, Akbar and Sanjit managed 1 wicket each.
Jiten, Somorjit, Tomba and Mani of DSU managed 1 wickets each in the second innings.
Jilangamba of LCCC was adjudged man of the match.
In the second match of the day, YWC, Langthabal rode in Samananda's 36-ball 41 to seal a 30 run win against NAPSA, Kha Imphal.
Umakanta also gathered 25 runs in 32 balls and Priyokumar also find his name on the scoresheet with 11 runs as YWC piled up 121 runs for 7 in 20 overs.
Bhogen and Himat of NAPSA claimed two wickets each in this innings while Simon and Mahesh took one wicket apiece.
Simon of NAPSA gave a positive start in the second innings making 32 runs off 42 balls but the remaining order could not do well except Ratan (19) and Himat (10) rendering the innings end with only 91 runs for 8 in 20 overs.
Premchand of YWC took the centre-stage in this innings as he enjoyed a 3-wicket haul while Kumarjit picked 2 wickets before Priyokumar and Kumar managed 1 wicket each.
YWC's Samananda was eventually named man of the match.
Model Club will meet Cyclone in the morning session tomorrow while Champ will take in NAPSA in the evening.
