TRUGPU down FCK; NACO lose

Tiddim Road Gammy Players' Union (TRUGPU), Nambol downed Football Club Khanglai (FCK) by a margin of 2 goals to one while Anouba Imagi Mangal (AIM), Khabam edged past Nambul Mapal Athletic and Cultural Organisation (NACO), Nambul Mapal by a margin of 3 goals to two in the ongoing 9th Manipur State League organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the sponsorship of MLA Khumukcham Joykishan Singh today at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
The first match began on a positive note with both teams putting their best foot forward to secure a win.
However FCK were stretched to the limit by the energetic players of TRUGPU who played an outstanding game unlike in the previous matches.

After a goalless breather, FCK's Hangminlen Haolai netted home the only goal of his side in the 50th minute through a fine corner kick from a pass by N Pritam.
TRUGPU however came back strongly into the game when Kh Jacky netted home the equaliser in the 72nd minute of the match after release a curling free kick towards the FCK's goalmouth.
Minutes later Y Gojen of TRUGPU struck the winning goal of the match beating FCK by a margin of 2 goals to one.
FCK's Hangminlen Haolai and TRUGPU's L Ratan were yellow carded during the match.
In the second match of the day, AIM and NACO matched each other with neither team giving an inch.
AIM's S Piyabung rammed home the opening goal in the 22nd minute off a defence splitting corner kick from M Priyananda.
Minutes later, W Daniel Meitei slammed home to make the scoreline 2 goal to nil.
N Rakesh Meitei of NACO netted home the first goal of his team in the 29th minute of the match to bring a glimmer.
A penalty from AIM's Piyabung in the last minute of breather helped his team to take a comfortable 2-0 lead.
The second goal of NACO was scored by K Rocky off a pass from Rakesh in the 51st minute of the match.
AIM's N Bikramjit, O Pitler and NACO's K Rocky and Md Nawaz were yellow carded.
Meanwhile, TRAU's Th Premkumar Singh (10) has been imposed a fine of Rs 2000 for intruding into the referees' dressing room after the 32nd league match played against MPSC on September 28 .
