Keeping idol player and imitating them help in enhancing performance: Somata Shaiza

International footballer, Somatai Shaiza, who had served as the longest captain in Churchill Brothers, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mahindra & Mahindra, has expressed that keeping idol players in mind and imitating them help in enhancing the performance of young footballers.
While sharing his views to Hueiyen Lanpao in connection with the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2014 to be held in Rio, Brazil, Somatai said that the players of the state should concentrate more on achieving better playing skills and use them in addition to improving their playing skills by imitating their international idol players.
Every player should have their idol player so that they can learn something from them.

Somatai disclosed that his idol player is 'Hand of God' Maradona of Argentina.
He pointed out that there is a vast difference between playing skills of players in our land and the skills of players in other countries participating in the World Cup.
If anybody wants to become a footballer, he or she needs to watch the game of football frequently and practice it with an object to achieve something, he observed.
Somatai noted that were many talented footballers in Manipur who unfortunately were neglected by the governing body in state.
Many more prominent footballers can come from Manipur if the authority concerned look into such matter, he added.
As a diehard fan of Argentina, Shaiza said that host country Brazil will retain the trophy of ensuing FIFA World Cup.
Somatai started to play outside Manipur in 1993.Later on, he stepped into the international sporting arena as captain of Churchill Brothers in 1997-1998 .
Besides his idol Maradona, Somatai said that Christiano Ronaldo of Portugal and Lionel Messi of Argentina are his all time favourite footballers.
