KASC, SCCC cruise in MNCA Men's U-19 One Day Trophy

KASC, Khomidok and SCCC, Singjamei enjoyed easy wins in the MNCA Men's U-19 One Day Trophy on Friday.
KASC produced an all-round performance to thrash TRAU, Kwakeithel by 256 runs at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Electing to bat, KASC piled up a mammoth 352/7 in their 40 overs with the help of Bm Irfan who scored a blistering 101 off 67 balls after their openers fell cheaply.
Washim Akram also made his mark with 60 off 20 balls, Rahish Khan scored 45, Bm Afsar was unbeaten on 27, Mohd Abdullah got 25, Ali Karim contributed 18 and Kh Wakip made 17 (not out) in KASC's fruitful innings.
KASC then skittled out TRAU in 22.1 overs for 96 and clinched a staggering victory.
Md Ali Karim turned chief destroyer for KASC racking up five wickets as Rahish Khan took two and Washim Akram bagged one.
For TRAU, Birbal Irom (34) and Shivestian Sharma (27) were the only bright spots in their futile run chase.
Earlier, Athokpam Secterjit claimed three wickets while Sibham Raut and Bharatngamba took two each for TRAU.
Ali Karim, who took five.
wickets, and 18 runs, was named the player of the match.
SCCC, meanwhile, beat PCC, Mayaikoibi by four wickets at Oriental College.
SCCC restricted PCC to 197/ 8 as Takhelmayum Vikash (74), Mairembam Lucky (25) and Pravin Kumar (24 not out) were the main contributors in their innings.
For SCCC, Basant did the major damage to the opposition batting order by taking three wickets.
Ankit Prasad finished with two scalps while Jimmy Oinam, Gaichungam Gangmei and Abdul Rahim accounted one wicket apiece.
In their response, SCCC overhauled the target in 29.3 overs as Basant shone with the bat scoring an unbeaten 94 off 69 balls, with helpful contributions from Abdul Kaif (24), Ankit Prasad (21) and Abdul Rahim (17) .
In the process, the Singjamei side lost four wickets as three fell to L Anjan and two to M Lucky.
N Basant clinched the player of the match title for his unbeaten 94 .
