Boxing camp underway in Tamenglong village

Imphal, March 13 2023:
A month-long boxing coaching camp, which is being organised by Manipur Amateur Boxing Association (MABA) commenced from March 1 at the remote New Impah village under Tousem sub-division in Tamenglong district bordering Nagaland state.
The camp is a part of MABA's on-going coaching programme at different places of the state.
The association had earlier successfully conducted such camps at Ukhrul district headquarters, Teinem village in Ukhrul district and at Phungyar village in Kamjong district.
Under the guidance of coach A Ibomcha Singh, a total of 112 local youths including 44 girls are taking part in the boxing camp held at the campus of Holy Angel's Academy, New Impah village.
New Impah village is around 45km from Tamenglong district headquarters and is the native village of IAS officer Armstrong Pame.
Meanwhile, MABA extended its best wishes to the first batch students numbering four boys and four girls of Holy Angel's Academy who would be ap pearing in the HSLC examination conducted by BSEM from March 16 .
According to a statement of MABA, all eight students of the school travelled along with MABA members from New Impah village to the examination centre at Tamenglong town in an open Bolero vehicle along the extremely bad and dusty road on March 8 .
