Chandel Football: Win for Wild Hogs, Chandel Khullen, Chumbang & LPSNMT

The Wild Hogs Football Club, Chandel Khullen, Chumbang Youth Club and Late PS Nigam Memorial Team (LPSNMT) registered their winning accounts by defeating their rival teams on the first day of Chandel Football Club 2014 yesterday at the play ground of United College, Lambung.
The district level knock-out l tournament which is being organized by 20 AR under the aegis of 26 Sector Assam Rifles will continue till March 4 along with participations by 20 teams from different parts of Chandel district.
The first march of the tournament yesterday was played between Wild Hogs and Riverline Youth Club during which Wild Hogs humbled Riverline by 4-1 goals.
Even though Riverline netted the first goal in the 19th minute by Rd Kolni (Jersey No 19), they were defeated by their rival.
All the four goals of Wild Hogs were scored by Sk Wangpol (Jersey No 17) in the 33rd, 44th, 53rd and 55th min.
During the second match, Chandel Khullen blanked out Larong Khullen by 2-0 goals.
Bekan (Jersey no 8) and Zimry (Jersey No 13) scored the two goals of the winning team in the 27th and 59th min.
Chumbang Youth Club ousted Monsang Pantha by 2-0 goals in the third match.
M Adoh (Jersey No 18) and Pr Shungrim (Jersey No 10) netted the goals in the 6th and 57th min.
During the fourth match, Bungpem (Jersey No 21) of Ps Ningam Memorial Team exhibited a good show by scoring four consecutive goals and an additional goal to help his team to win over Chandel Christian by 7-0 goals.
He (Bungpem) scored the first three goals in the 12th, 16th and 20th min to become the second man to earn a hat trick.
His fourth and fifth goal came in the 34th and 48th min.
Ningphasing (Jersey No 22) and Angpol (Jersey No 26) scored one goal each in the 36th and 55th min.
Prior to the match, Second in Command of 20 Assam Rifles, Major Harsh Wardhan Pande declared the tournament opened in an opening ceremony which was marked by hoisting of the flag and briefing of the players.
Dignitaries on dais included Commanding Officer of 20 AR, Col Suveer Seth, Principal of United College BD Thumdal and chiefs of the Villages.
On the other hand, the second day of the tournament today brought victory for Khungjon, Panchai and Lambung Youth and Cultural Club.
Taking the first match, Khongjon defeated Lamphou Charu 4-3 via penalty shoot out after the two teams locked up in 1-1 goal during the normal time.
Borningpha (Jersey No 7) of Khongjon and Joyson (Jersey No 9) of Lamphou Charu kicked one goal each for their team in the 43rd and 50th min respectively.
In the second match, St Levite (Jersey No 9) and Ts Thangtha (Jersey No 16) netted one goal each in the 12th and 45th min to help their team Panchai to win over Thamlapokpi 2-1.Sk Darhring (Jersey No 3) of Thamlapokpi scored one goal in the 42nd min.
Lambung Youth and Cultural Club knocked out NSUC by 6-1 goals in the last competition of the day.
Thangningam (Jersey No 10) and Zechariah (Jersey No 17) scored two goals each in the 28th, 42nd and 32nd and 35th min respectively while Sheltha (Jersey No 13), Rupengam (Jersey No 6) and Lelea (Jersey No 3) fetched one goal each for their team in the 37th, 46th and 54th min respectively.
