Hockey: HU, SYUC to meet men's final as YCCIC set up women's title clash with Ideal

Imphal, January 14 2022: Hockey Union (HU) and SYUC will meet in the men's final of the 1st State Level Hockey Tournament, following their semifinal triumphs on Friday while YCCIC cruised past Bishnu-pur Hockey 6 -0 to set up title clash with Ideal Club in the women's event.

SYUC defeated KHSC by a 3-1 margin in their semifinal match.

Both teams played out a 1-1 tie in the first quarter with Sh Borish scoring for SYUC and Sushil finding the equaliser for KHSC.

In the second quarter, SYUC took a 2-1 lead after G Dingku made his effort count in the 19th minute.

The two sides failed to score in the third quarter but SYUC made sure of a 3-1 result in the fourth quarter with Dingku hammering home his second goal in the 51st minute.

In other semifinal match, HU registered a dominant 4-1 win over YCCIC.

Kh Nykolin, Th Kingson, A Sachin and M Sushanta all got their names on the scoresheet in their side's semifinal triumph.

In the day's women's match, YCCIC thrashed Bishnupur Hockey 6-0 to finish second in the league round.

They will now face Ideal Club, who top the group stage, in the final on Saturday.
