Imphal, March 13 2023: REYS produced an all-round performance to inflict a 147-run defeat on CRAU in their MNCA Elite Tournament league tie at Cherapur, Thoubal on Monday.

Md Basir Rahman made his mark with the bat smashing 93 off 103 balls.

He was ably supported by Sourgrakpam Shangkar (50/51) as REYS piled up a mammoth total of 282 before being dismissed with one ball to spare.

REYS's innings also saw helpful contributions from Paul Zomi (46), Laishram Daniel (22), Kiran Laishram (21) and Ro-mario (13).In the process, four of REYS' wickets fell prey to Mehtab Jamal, three to Dinu Sarangthem and one each to Lamabam Ajay and Sanatomba.

Chasing a big total, CRAU wilted under pressure and surrendered at 135/9 in 30 oyers.

Mehtab Jamal (44), Lamabam Ajay (29) and Lamabam Jotin (25) were the main performers in the chase.

Sapam Bikash shone with the ball for REYS, claiming four wickets as Kiran Laishram also made his presence felt with three scalps and Romario did his bit with two.

Md Basir Rahman (93) walked away with the man of the match trophy.
