Late equaliser for USA; TRUGPU win

Md Asif of United Sports Association (USA), Khurai saved his team with a late equaliser to draw against Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU), Khwakeithel while Tiddim Road Unique Gammy Player's Union (TRUGPU), Nambol downed Keinou Library and Sports Association (KLASA), Keinou by a margin of 2 goals to nil in the ongoing 9th Manipur State League organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the sponsorship of MLA Khumukcham Joykishan Singh today at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
The first match between USA and TRAU began with neither team giving an inch.
Both team failed to break the deadlock with all their chances going abegging.
After the breather, TRAU's captain Th Premkumar opened his team's account in the 69th minute of the match following a denfence splitting pass from S Bhumeshwor Meetei.

The Khurai team fought back hard till Md Asif of USA slammed home the equaliser in the dying minutes of the match.
USA's Th Kala, O Abung and TRAW's L Bikram were yellow carded during the match.
In the second match of the day, L Sanatomba's brace helped TRUGPU to register a win against the new promoter KLASA by a marigin of 2 goals to nil.
The match ended with a single yellow card against S Shanta of KLASA.
Meanwhile, the 25th league match between Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) and Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei ended in a goalless draw, yesterday.
In another match played yesterday, North Imphal Sports Association (NISA), Thangmeiband drew with North Eastern Re-Organising and Cultural Association (NEROCA), Sangakpham with two goals each.
NEROCA's Th Boris and team captain Kh Satish struck home in the 5th and the 40th minute of the match helping their team take a comfortable lead without conceding none.
After the breather, the Thangmeiband players went on the offensive side and fought hard from the first minute, but NEROCA defenders stood firm and managed to hold NISA till the breather.
After the final whistle, the referee added three minutes of additional time.
During the extra time, NISA opened up its game and started raiding the citadel of NEROCA.
A freak own goal from NEROCA's defender M Dhananjay brought down the margin to 2-1.The attack continued and I Nilakumar found the equaliser through a finer header in the last minute of additional to restore parity.
NISA's Arunkumar and NEROCA's Kh Satish were cautioned with yellow cards during the match.
