Culmination of Behiang Football Tourney

To give a healthier start to the new year and continue its endeavours to make a difference to the lives of the villagers in border areas, Singhat Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a medical camp in the border village of Behiang on 17 Dec 2018 under OP SADBHAVNA initiative.
Around 350 people from neighbouring villages of L Kanan, Tongjang, Janglung, S Sekhen, Suangphu and Hangsum benefitted from the camp.
The benefits of the camp were not only restricted to Indian villages, but civilians belonging to villages of Myanmar viz Chika, Vanglai, Khenman and Tuimong were also benefitted.
Necessary medical treatment, consultation and aid was provided to the ailing villagers by the unit medical staff.

Also the much awaited football final of the Beheng Football Tourney culminated on 17 Dec 2018 .
The match that was played met the expectation of the people and all were happy to see the tournament ending at a high note.
In the first match BYC A defeated Pellau FC with a score difference of 1-0 to enter the finals with the last minute nail biting goal of Manthunglian.
In another match the match was decided by penalty shootout in which Saungphu and Chikha FC in which Saungphu won 4-3 .
In the second semi finals AR scored 5 goals against 1 goal of Tangpizol to enter the finals with BYC A who defeated Saungphu 2-1 .
The final face off was between BYC A and AR, in which AR defeated BYC A 4-1 .
But since AR was a wild card entry, BYC A were declared winner and Saungphu were the runners up in the Beheng Football Tourney.
Winners and runners up were given a prize of Rs 10000 and Rs 5000 respectively.
Prizes of Rs 1000 was also given to best player, best goalkeeper and highest goal scorer.
After the prize distribution ceremony pastor Behang church said the closing prayer and blessed everyone with his good wishes.
The people of Beheng and neighbouring villages thanked the efforts of Assam Rifles for not only helping in reviving the Football ground but also in assisting in conduct of the tournament throughout, with this the Assam Rifles has proved itself to be the "Friends of the Hill people" .
