AP, Manipur winners in Jr weightlifting

Andhra Pradesh and Manipur were declared winners in junior men and women categories respectively in the 48th men and 24th women Junior National Weightlifting Championship which concluded on Wednesday.
Andhra Pradesh scored 640 points, while Manipur bagged 613 points in joint team events.
Andhra Pradesh also emerged runners-up in Junior Women section with 575 points, while Orissa were runners-up in Junior men section with 413 points.
In the overall medal tally, Andhra Pradesh bagged the highest number of 18 medals including nine gold, three silver and six bronze, followed by Uttar Pradesh with nine gold and five silver.
Delhi stood third with seven gold, one silver and two bronze followed by Orissa (6 gold 6, one silver and 4 bronze) and West Bengal (4 gold, one silver) .
Archana Gupta of Uttar Pradesh was adjudged the best lifter in women's section with a total lift of 155 kg with 228.5 sinclair points.
In the men's section, Delhi's Neeraj Sharma became best lifter with a total lift of 290 kg and 362.7 sinclair points.
Competition in four events were held during the day.
In 105 kg men's section, Nitin Singh Rawat (UP) clinched three gold medals by lifting 125 kg in snatch, 146 kg in clean and jerk and 271 kg in total.
In 105kg plus category for men, Delhi lifter Nitesh bagged three medals by lifting 147kg (Gold) in clean and jerk and 262kg (Gold) in total besides 115kg (Bronze) in snatch.
B Sainath of Andhra Pradesh also clinched three medals by lifting 122kg (Gold) in snatch, 140kg (Bronze) in clean and jerk and 262kg (Silver) in total in 105kg plus category while lifter from Madhya Pradesh Krishnakant Joshi won two silver and a bronze by lifting 116kg in snatch, 142kg in clean and jerk and 258kg in total.
In 75kg women's section, Bengal lifter Rakhi Fadikar clinched three gold medals by lifting 73kg in snatch, 88kg in clean and jerk and 161kg in total.
Y M Nafisa of Manipur struck three silver in the same category by lifting 63kg in snatch, 84kg in clean and jerk and 147kg in total, while P Sushmita Singh of Andhra Pradesh bagged three bronze by lifting 59kg in snatch, 82kg in clean and jerk and 141kg in total.
